DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation) Ramasjang just launched the best app in the world. We helped them concept, design and develop it. Ramasjang's new Krea app is created on a foundation of joy of drawing, sweat and heart. We have a dream to increase children's joy in life and self-confidence through creativity. Anyone who has managed to maintain creativity into adulthood knows that creativity can almost be described as a place you go. If creativity lives inside you, you will never be bored again, and you will know a language that everyone understands across continents. For some it is a place where they find peace, for others a place where they immerse themselves, practice, “connect the dots”, or recharge. Many children today lose the ability to create and be creative quite early. They seep into learning plans and onto screens, which become the potentially new 'safe spaces'. But screen and creativity fortunately do not have to be polar opposites. By working together with the screen, we will gently show the child the way back to paper and pencil, and it is our dream that they become best friends with their drawing talent. Together with DR, we have developed a place where children can safely experiment with drawing techniques, and where time can be allowed to disappear between the hands because an hour has passed in coloring a nice pattern. Our dream is to get all children in Denmark to draw more, and it is both wonderful and lucky that we share that dream with DR. At Ramasjang, they always say that one hour of screen equals 100 hours of play, the Krea app will make that happen, once you have become comfortable with your drawing skills, it is something children can take with them (long after the iPad has run out of power) and well into adulthood.
