About us
The Hawai'i State Department of Education employs about 22,000 full-time employees (including teachers, librarians, counselors, educational officers, support staff and more). We seek talented, skilled, credentialed and enthusiastic employees who will help deliver on the promise of the Department's Strategic Plan. There are job opportunities on the main populated islands: Oahu, Hawaii, Maui, Molokai, Lanai and Kauai. In collaboration with Kānehūnamoku Voyaging Academy and the Festival of Pacific Arts and Culture, over 120 HIDOE teachers and educators were treated to a rare experience at Kualoa Regional Park where they toured various waʻa (canoes) from around Hawaiʻi and the Pacific. Teachers participated in waʻa focused workshops that integrate core content curriculum and learned how the wa’a can be used as a tool to inspire students to embrace the “Navigator Mindset” so they may become the leaders, stewards and critical thinkers of the world.
