It encompasses a range of behaviors, including controlling finances, exploiting assets, and restricting access to resources, all of which can have devastating and long-lasting consequences for survivors. Recognizing the urgent need to address this critical issue, Grameen Foundation is taking a bold stand with Program SAFE. This comprehensive initiative aims to raise awareness, provide support services, and build a global coalition to safeguard against financial abuse in all its forms. Fa'afetai Tuvalu! It has been exactly one week since we at Grameen Foundation hosted the Building Economic incLUsion via the BlUe Economy (BELUU) learning session titled WAVE: Women's AdVancement for Economic Sustainability in Funafuti, Tuvalu. We also conducted the launch of our Digital Exchange Empowering the Pacific Region (DEEPR) platform. (Check out https://lnkd.in/gDThEMPZ) Thankful for the stories shared by the women on how they run their business, their organizations in order to respond to current societal issues including climate change. Their resilience and determination to continue serving their respective communities rekindled my spirit of service, providing hope! Always refreshing to see civil society groups who are passionate about their causes. I left the island with a happy heart and a renewed commitment to journey with them.
