We’re an agency on a mission: to cause the effect.
About us
We’re bold. We’re brave. We’re unstoppable. GMMB is an agency on a mission: to cause the effect. We come from diverse backgrounds—political campaigns, nonprofits, creative agencies and the media—but the one thing we all have in common is our drive to create real, meaningful change. Whether we’re focused on getting kids healthier, improving schools, advancing laws or electing progressive leaders, we’re not in this business to sell products. We’re here to spread ideas that will transform our world into a better, kinder, fairer place. Since 1983, our agency has tackled a broad range of issues, including environmental protection, community service, education and health reform. We’ve helped elect presidents at home and abroad, fought for stricter regulations on tobacco and drunk driving, and united children in foster care with their forever families. And we’ve built an impressive client base that shares our passion for doing work that matters. Creating real and lasting change in the world: It’s what we do. Are you with us?

At GMMB, we #WearOrange for National Gun Violence Awareness Day - to honor gun violence survivors and call for action to end our gun violence crisis. Every day in America, over 120 lives are cut short by gun violence, and twice as many people are shot and wounded. Our communities deserve better, and we're committed to doing something about it. #DYK GMMB’s Seattle office has an unofficial mascot? In 2022, the Urban Raptor Conservancy partnered with the AGC of Washington to host a peregrine falcon nest on their balcony, creating a protected nesting area for the formerly endangered species just outside of GMMB’s offices. While GMMBers love poking their heads out the window to check on their neighbors, AGC also hosts their FalconCam livestream – giving everyone the chance to watch the falcons from the moment they lay their eggs through their babies’ first flight. Interested in learning more? You can visit AGC’s website (and watch the FalconCam!) here: https://lnkd.in/dek2_4Fw

We asked GMMBers to share what they’re reading, tasting, and watching this #AAPIHeritageMonth and they delivered. 🤩 These books, restaurants, and movies/shows provide just a glimpse into the noteworthy impact AAPI visionaries have had in our communities. Tell us which recommendations you love and drop your own in the comments!

We are helping Marshall Street Initiatives make best practices standard with the launch of the Research-to-Impact Practice Collections. Available for any school to use, these evidence-based resources offer the tools schools need to meet student’s needs and improve the learning experiences of Black and Latinx students with disabilities facing poverty. U.S. public schools serve more than 7 million students with disabilities, about 15% of the total student population. However, students with disabilities frequently face low expectations, barriers to rigorous courses, and insufficient support to graduate high school and pursue their dreams. For Black and Latinx students with disabilities experiencing poverty, the challenges are even greater. Yet research shows that 85-90% of students with disabilities can achieve at grade-level when they receive high-quality instruction and appropriate accommodations. We are proud to be a part of bringing these resources to life for schools committed to creating a more equitable education system!
We are excited to announce that the Research-to-Impact Practices are available now! https://lnkd.in/gXNqSuPi Schools across America struggle to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities — especially students from historically underserved backgrounds. Over three years, educators, researchers, and content experts developed evidence-based practices to improve learning experiences, environments, and outcomes for Black and Latinx students with disabilities experiencing poverty. The practices are organized into five collections that summarize relevant research and provide step-by-step instructions, case studies from schools in the network, and templates and implementation tools for educators to use in their classrooms. -Turning the Page to Secondary Literacy: Tested practices for schools to identify gaps and implement interventions for secondary readers -Opening Doors to Collaboration: Interdisciplinary practices for building collaboration between general and special education teams -Navigating Data for Multi-Tiered Systems of Support: Equity-based practices for using data at the district, school, and classroom levels to accelerate student supports -Igniting Postsecondary Aspirations: Proven school-based practices to empower students to transition into meaningful college, career, and community postsecondary pathways -Anchoring Emotions: One school’s skill-based practices for supporting students with emotional-based disabilities We are grateful for the collaboration and partnership of the NIC. Participating Schools: Summit Public Schools, KIPP Public Schools Northern California, Ednovate Inc, Green Dot Public Schools California, STEM Preparatory Schools, Rocky Mountain Prep, Noble Schools, Collegiate Academies, Mastery Schools, Uncommon Schools. Technical Assistance & Content Experts: Anti-AbleistED, Blue Engine, Catalyst:Ed, Datability Education Consulting (Sivan Tuchman), Mathematica, National Implementation Research Network, RTI International, Spark Education Consulting (Genevieve Thomas), SRI Education, SWIFT Education Center.
