GBA's 26th Spring Tax Conference was a smashing success! 2025 will undoubtedly be the "Tax Superbowl," and we are already preparing to tackle the jam-packed tax legislative agenda that awaits us. A huge thank you to our conference co-chairs, Kevin Sherfey and Thomas Scarpaci, and our sponsors, Baker McKenzie and Deloitte, for making it all possible.

A huge thank you to Congressman David Schweikert for helping us kick off our 26th Spring Tax Conference at the beautiful Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia! Our member companies' top tax executives enjoyed hearing his perspective and outlook on what's to come in 2025.

GREAT NEWS coming out of Georgia: Office of Governor Brian P. Kemp has vetoed legislation that would have required Georgia workers at international companies to register as a foreign agent. Nancy McLernon, GBA's President & CEO, said: "I applaud Governor Kemp for recognizing that this legislation would have unfairly mischaracterized over 280,000 hardworking Georgians at international companies operating in the U.S. as foreign agents. Although the intent of the bill is laudable, the clunky way it was written would have discriminated against and pejoratively labeled average Americans." The Global Business Alliance just kicked off our 26th Annual Spring Tax Conference at the lovely Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia. I’d like to thank Congressman David Schweikert for stopping by last night to offer some insightful and sobering thoughts on the tax policy issues our country will face in 2025. I’d also like to thank to our sponsors Deloitte & Baker McKenzie, as well as our conference co-chairs Kevin Sherfey & Thomas Scarpaci. Looking forward to a jam-packed few days.

GBA's Senior Director of Tax and Trade, Aaron Taylor, testified before the United States Trade Representative and urged for trade policies that encourage investment from allied countries to deepen economic relationships and build more resilient supply chains.
