✨️Deloitte Impact Day with Girls Inc. LA was a success!  🫶 Thank you for celebrating #ImpactDay with us for the third year in a row! They generously donated all the materials and supplies- they even brought delicious snacks for us! They spent their Friday putting together program starter kits, prize bags and prize boxes for our girls and staff for the upcoming school year. 🖌🎨 The starter kits were composed of classroom essentials such as tempera paint, brushes, markers, disinfecting wipes and a foldable wagon! Prize bags were decorated by hand and included uplifting messages and fun items such as a notebook, pen, stickers and mini plush animals. 🎉 Happy first-ever International Day of Play! 🙌 We're proud to partner with organizations like Mattel, Inc. who embrace the power of play every day! ✨️Earlier this year, we celebrated Barbie for her 65th Anniversary! Mattel, Inc. gave us everything we needed to have the ultimate Barbie party! We got creative with dream house kits, received a special 65th-anniversary edition Barbie and enjoyed delicious Barbie-themed Sprinkles cupcakes! 💗 Our girls celebrated Barbie and were reminded of the power of play and their limitless potential to be all that they want to be, just like Barbie herself! 💫 Cheers to celebrating the power of play to inspire girls to be all they can be! #GirlsIncLA #InternationalDayofPlay #Mattel #Community #LosAngeles

💫 Our field trip to the Discovery Cube in Sylmar was a blast! Our girls got to experience science in a new setting. 🌿 They explored the life cycle of plants and water and the food we consume. They learned about medical care and practiced doing check-ups on patients and simulated surgery through the interactive exhibits. They explored engineering design, energy transfer and Newton's Law of Motion. 💓 These fantastic educational adventures are possible with your support. 💚 For this year's Civic Engagement project, one group of students built a compost bin at their school with the incredible support of Chicas Verdes. 💫 A huge thanks to Chicas Verdes for sharing their knowledge on composting and helping our girls build a compost community system at their school. ♻️Together we're inspiring girls to incorporate sustainability and environmentally friendly practices into their lives. #GirlsIncLA #Compost #LosAngeles

💫 This week Brand New: A Collective stopped by to talk to our girls about the vital skill of self-advocacy. 💕 By emphasizing the importance of self-advocacy at a young age, we're empowering girls to assert themselves, speak up and confidently express their needs and desires. ✨️During the session, girls were introduced to a diverse group of well-known female figures who have used self-advocacy to enact change in their community. They were then introduced to a self-advocacy toolbox and practiced with real-life scenarios, learning how to advocate for themselves. ✊️ Equipping girls with the tools and resources to communicate with confidence is essential for them to thrive. 🙌 Thank you, Brand New: A Collective, for working with our girls to identify resources, people and spaces that are needed for effective self-advocacy. #GirlsIncLA #SelfAdvocacy #Community #LosAngeles

🎨👩🎨Take a look at the collaborative art pieces our girls created. 🖼 Our girls were asked to collaborate on an art piece. Each girl started off with a blank canvas. They painted for a few minutes and then were asked to swap canvases to add their own touch. After a few swaps, they were given their original art piece back. ✨️In the beginning, everyone had a vision of what they wanted on their canvas, but as they swapped the art on the canvas changed. This activity allowed girls to appreciate their peers' diverse perspectives. #GirlsIncLA #Art #Community #LosAngeles
