We're ready to wear our pride! We partnered with The GenderCool Project and their Champion Lily to design friendship bracelets for our employees to celebrate Pride Month. Lily's inspiration came from merging both brands' colors while honoring the colors of the Pride flag. GenderCool is a youth-led movement dedicated to helping replace misinformed opinions with positive experiences meeting transgender and non-binary youth. To support their mission, Gap Inc. is donating to the organization and we'll be joining them later this month at the Pride parade in Chicago! Our brand believes in the power of being your authentic self, and we're honored to provide an outlet for our teams to show their pride and express themselves in their own way. Forever original. Since 1969. #howyouweargap
About us
In 1969, Don and Doris Fisher opened the first Gap store on Ocean Avenue in San Francisco. They wanted to make it easier to find a great pair of jeans, and they did. Their denim and records store was a hit, and it grew to become one of the world’s most iconic brands. Today we’re represented in more than 1400 stores in over 40 countries, and online. We have headquarters in New York, London, Shanghai, Tokyo, and, of course, San Francisco. Our unique aesthetic is optimistic cool, elevated American style. Our clothes are crafted with care, with focused attention to thoughtful design. We believe in staying true to our heritage while creating what’s next. Don and Doris Fisher always wanted to “do more than sell clothes.” They wanted to support the people who ran their company, to be active in their communities, and to have a positive impact on the world. Their vision helped transform retail, and we’re still following their lead. We stand for freedom and possibility for all; we champion diverse ideas that transcend generations, geographies and genders. So if you have ideas, if you’re talented, if you want to work with phenomenal people, and if you think we should leave the world a little better than we found it, we’d love to meet you.

Yesterday, Oscar® Award-Winning actress Anne Hathaway wore a custom Gap shirt dress designed by Gap Inc. Creative Director Zac Posen. Last week, our community partner The Brotherhood Sister Sol (BroSis) hosted their 19th annual Voices Gala. The event was a center for culture icons to come together in a collective stand for justice, access, equity and opportunity - an opportunity to bridge gaps and create a better world. Hosted by Hasan Minhaj and honoring both Ai-jen Poo and Billy Porter, the gala represented the power of community coming together for a shared purpose, raising over $1.9 million to serve our Black and Latinx youth in New York City. We are honored to have been in attendance and we're looking forward to seeing BroSis continuing to push towards a more just future for the youth!

To celebrate Earth Day, our teams had the privilege of visiting our community partner The Brotherhood Sister Sol in Harlem where we participated in a community gardening session and hosted a discussion by our Head of Sustainability, Jenn Swain. We discussed sustainability in fashion, and the youth at BroSis had the opportunity to participate in a design session where they created their own sustainable fashion looks. Inspired by early '90s Gap heritage, Zendaya *serves* in the latest British Vogue feature in anticipation of her upcoming tennis-drama "Challengers," nodding to our core themes of self-expression. In the words of image architect Law Roach: "The clothes reflected their attitudes and personas." We're honored to see our heritage recontextualized in the modern-day. What serves as your inspiration? https://lnkd.in/eSNqJYFT
