“I never thought about Amanda joining the Ford Credit family, the discussion was around other organizations,” said John Ferguson, customer service manager, about his daughter. But Amanda Ferguson visited our booth at a career fair and liked what she heard.   “Everyone is so kind, caring and helpful. My friends work at other companies, I have interned elsewhere, and for culture and people, there is no place like Ford Credit,” Amanda said. She joined our development program in 2021 and is now a business development manager. She’s grateful to work at the same company as John, “the best father a girl could ask for,” and the feeling is mutual.   “I admire her as a person. My wife and I couldn’t be luckier as parents,” said John, whose own father had a career at Ford Motor Company. We’re glad so many families are part of our Ford Credit family, and as #FathersDay approaches, we send best wishes to John and all fathers and father figures! 

It’s officially summer and that means its road trip season! A study from The Vacationer found that this summer, 75% of Americans intend to take at least one road trip, most driving within 100 miles of home. Taking a road trip over the summer is an American tradition that dates back to Henry Ford and The Vagabonds, who made summer road-tripping a uniquely American adventure in the early 1900s. A lot has changed since then but Americans are still taking to the roads to enjoy the summer season! Our team has compiled a list of summer road trip destinations across the U.S. to help inspire you to take a trip of your own using #BlueCruise. Long road trips can be tiring, especially after packing up the car and family. Think about those long stretches, some with continuous stop-and-go traffic. However, hands-free highway driving can help take some of the work out of driving and help you arrive energized, ready to enjoy your destination. Angela Spalla (née Lombardo), celebrated her 103rd birthday on January 29, 2024. A dedicated Michigan Central Station employee in the 1940s, she still has her employee  ID card from 1945. She even helped her sister get a job at at the train station too. Some of her favorite memories are of spotting celebrities travelling to and from performances. Watch the video to see her reaction as she steps inside The Station for the first time since Ford Motor Company’s historic restoration. See her story and others as part of our Faces of Michigan Central exhibit at OPEN House.
