The Florida International University (FIU) Foundation is devoted to advancing FIU’s progress as one of the nation’s top 50 public universities by generating support for student success, groundbreaking/cutting-edge state-of-the-art research, and public service to benefit the local and global communities. Established in 1969, the Foundation connects donors with FIU's colleges and schools as well as programs, students, faculty, and other meaningful opportunities that match their interests. The Foundation is a nonprofit corporation governed by a board of directors, whose members play a significant role in the development of FIU as a major educational, cultural, and economic resource. The accomplished fundraisers and other professionals at the Foundation engage with alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations to enable them to invest in FIU and to steward their gifts to ensure optimal impact. 🇵🇷Celebrating Cuban Heritage Month with FIU’s Bacardi Center of Excellence (BCE) and CasaCuba✨ We recently collaborated on an incredible partnership event in honor of Cuban Heritage Month, bringing together alumni and FIU partners to celebrate all things Cuban heritage. Our talented BCE Bartenders Guild students demonstrated traditional Cuban cocktails, including the iconic Mojito made with Bacardi Superior Rum and a classic Daiquiri made with Bacardí Añejo Cuatro Rum! CasaCuba at Florida International University serves as a gathering spot for the brightest minds from around the world to discuss issues related to Cuba’s past, present and future. They also offer opportunities to support the work of Cuban scholars and policymakers across the globe while showcasing and preserving, for generations to come, the richness of the Cuban heritage. To showcase our commitment to education, we set up hands-on crafting stations, where guests had the opportunity to shake up their own cocktails. Our students provided guidance on cocktail tools, techniques, and even shared a bit of cocktail history with each of the guest. It was a fantastic evening of culture, learning, and community.
