The FCC, NTIA, and the Navy have successfully worked together to enable improved mid-band spectrum access to approximately 72 million more people for wireless internet and other services. This means over 8 million more Pennsylvanians will be able to use this spectrum. 1.4 million Mississippians. 3.5 million Oklahomans. 2 million Nevadans. And many more nationwide! The changes improve service for approximately 72 million more people and expand the total unencumbered area to roughly 240 million people nationwide. In short, we’re getting more people access to a critical swath of licensed spectrum.

We are taking steps to ensure the security of U.S. networks. Bad actors are able to disrupt critical services that rely on the internet by hijacking Border Gateway Protocol, the technology used for routing information through the physical and digital infrastructure of the internet. Chairwoman Rosenworcel proposed requiring the largest broadband providers to file confidential reports on BGP security so the FCC and its national security partners can for the first time collect more up-to-date information about this critical internet routing intersection. https://lnkd.in/egu7RkZV
