EquiTrust Supports the Principal Charity Classic ⛳ EquiTrust Life Insurance Company was honored to sponsor and provide volunteers for the Principal Charity Classic PGA Golf Tournament from May 29 to June 2. Our team joined forces with other volunteers to ensure a smooth event and maximize contributions to charity partners. The Principal Charity Classic positively impacts over 130,000 youth annually by providing resources in education, culture, financial security, and health and wellness. Dedicated to supporting Iowa's youth, the event has raised over $53 million since 2007, thanks to volunteers, donations, and charity partners. EquiTrust is excited to support the Big Shoulders Fund’s Stock Market Program at Holy Trinity High School in Chicago. EquiTrust is tremendously proud of our employees who stepped up and donated blood today to help LifeServe Blood Center refill their blood units and continually save lives. Statistics show that more than 3,000 units of blood are needed weekly to meet the needs of hospitals and approximately nine out of ten people under the age of 70 will use blood during their lifetime — yet less than five percent of people donate blood. While this event was part of the Des Moines Corporate Games, it also closely ties into our company values of giving back and corporate citizenship — improving the communities where we live and work. The morning session was all about emotional intelligence, with a focus on understanding our DiSC styles. Exploring how different styles interact and learning to adapt to others' mindsets are crucial steps towards effective teamwork and partnership. In the afternoon, we delved into the art of navigating difficult conversations, leveraging our emotional intelligence (EQ) to handle challenging situations with grace and professionalism.
