About us
The EEOC, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, enforces federal laws that make it illegal to discriminate against a job applicant or an employee because of the person's race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information. The laws apply to all types of work situations, including hiring, firing, promotions, harassment, training, wages, and benefits. We also work to prevent discrimination before it occurs through outreach, education and technical assistance programs. Join EEOC for a Free PWFA Webinar for Workers May 21, 2024, 12:30 p.m. ET Register: https://lnkd.in/eiZKJ2HS The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) requires most employers with 15 or more employees to provide “reasonable accommodations,” or changes at work, for a worker’s known limitations related to pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions, unless the accommodation will cause the employer an undue hardship. At the webinar, EEOC lawyers and staff will discuss workers' rights and employer responsibilities under the law and the EEOC's final regulation, which goes into effect June 18, 2024. You'll learn who’s covered, what types of limitations are covered, and what are and how to request reasonable accommodations. Submit questions and accommodation requests to [email protected] and add "PWFA Webinar" to the subject line. More information about the PWFA and the EEOC’s final rule, including resources for employers and workers, is available on the EEOC’s “What You Should Know about the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act” webpage.
