As we reach the end of Pride Month, it is important to remember that our work towards building a more inclusive, diverse, and accepting society does not end here. While this month may have highlighted the struggles and triumphs of the LGBTQ+ community, it is our duty to continue these conversations and efforts all year long. This month, our teams have shared multiple stories and experiences of our Do'ers through Pride Spotlights and Blog posts; we have had some fun with two Drag Bingo sessions with the incredible Schwa Works, and are relaunching our DE&I group to bring in new perspectives and goals. We must continue to raise our voices and fight for the rights and acceptance of all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. We must challenge ourselves and others to be more inclusive and stand up against discrimination in all its forms. So as we bid farewell to Pride Month, let us remember that the fight for equality and acceptance is a continuous journey. Let us keep the rainbow spirit alive and strive towards a society where everyone is embraced and celebrated for who they are. Happy Pride, always. 🏳️🌈 #LifeatDoit #PrideMonth #Inclusion #Diversity #Acceptance #Equality

As many increasingly using Amazon #EKS to run containerized workloads, we've fielded many questions around: ➡ Configuring and optimizing EKS clusters for performance and cost ➡ Strategies for securing #Kubernetes environments (RBAC, network policies, encryption) ➡ Techniques for monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting #K8s workloads on AWS ...or where to even start with an EKS migration project. That's why in two weeks we're hosting a live Q&A with four Kubernetes subject matter experts — Christopher McGrath, Chimbu Chinnadurai, Lukas Stiebellehner, and Miguel de Lucas — all about EKS and Kubernetes on AWS! If you have questions about your company's EKS implementation (or future migration plans), be sure to save your spot and come with your questions. Register here: https://lnkd.in/eJBWS7GV

Switching from #BigQuery logical storage to physical storage can dramatically reduce your storage costs — but if you factor time-travel and fail-safe costs, it may actually end up costing you a lot more vs. logical storage (or generate higher storage costs than you were expecting). Time-travel let's you access data that's been changed or deleted from any point in time within a specific window (default = 7 days, can go down to 2). BigQuery's fail-safe feature retains deleted data for an additional 7 days (recently updated from 14 days) AFTER the time travel window, for emergency data recovery — and you can't adjust it. You pay for both time-travel and fail-safe storage costs when on physical storage — whereas you don't w/logical — at ACTIVE physical storage rates. Consider the story Sayle Matthews describes below from our live BigQuery Q&A, where a customer deleted a large table in long-term physical storage. Once deleted, the table was converted to active storage and for 21 days (7 on time-travel, 14 on fail-safe) the customer paid the *active* storage rate for that period, leading to an unexpectedly-large storage bill. To get around these unintended storage costs you might want to: ➡ Tweak your time-travel settings down to 2 days vs. 7 days. ➡ Convert your table logical storage before deleting the tables ➡ Not switch to physical storage to begin with — for instance if your dataset tables are updated daily. Watch the clip below to hear Sayle and Matthew Richardson elaborate more on your options for preventing this from happening.
