Congratulations to our April Volunteer MVP, Sophia Seebach! Sophia has been an intern with the Marketing department since last October and has been a huge asset to the team. She does a great job of managing our social media calendars to ensure we aren’t missing any importance holidays or observances that provide an opportunity to share our services. Most recently, Sophia lent a hand outside of social media tasks as the Development & Marketing team prepared for Cup. She was a huge help in completing a ton of tasks that freed up time for the rest of the team to focus on other prep. We knew we could count on her to complete the task and do it well, too.
Join us for a night with the Tampa Bay Rowdies! The Rowdies are hosting a mental health awareness night for their game this Saturday, May 18th. If you would like to join us for the game, $5 for every ticket sold will come back to the Crisis Center. Get your ticket here: https://lnkd.in/e3ghE5mA
Yesterday, staff throughout our organization met with FSU students to provide insight into various roles and how we all work together to support our mission. These virtual shadowings are a great opportunity to showcase the important work we do with individuals whose career might lead them to an organization like the Crisis Center.
This past Wednesday, I participated in an incredible opportunity with the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay through the FSUshadow Program, hosted by the FSU Career Center. The FSUshadow Program gives students the chance to experience a one-day job shadowing opportunity in a career field/ industry of interest to them. Through this experience, I was able to gain knowledge about the various departments and roles that contribute to the smooth operation of this non-profit agency. It was especially helpful listening to different professionals speak about their career journeys, share words of encouragement, and give advice concerning our career goals. I also learned more about the organization’s objectives and ways they are actively working toward making a positive impact in the lives of people each day. As a Criminology and Criminal Justice major, I enjoyed learning about their Victim Advocacy department, which assists in supporting victims of sexual assault/rape, and their Care Coordination department, which focuses on providing advocacy and prevention support to clients. Moreover, I was happy to hear about all the programs and resources available to victims during and after experiencing trauma or crises. Thank you to the FSU Career Center and the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay for organizing this insightful experience. Also, a special shout-out to Mandi Robbins for hosting and arranging speakers from each of the departments. #FSUShadow
