Every day, our decisions impact safety. Did you know almost 90% of incidents stem from unsafe acts? Whether we contribute to the problem or the solution hinges on our choices. Here's how: Being part of the problem: ❌Taking shortcuts ❌Ignoring safety procedures ❌Silence in the face of hazards ❌Negative attitudes toward safety ❌Encouraging unsafe practices Being part of the solution: ✅Taking safety responsibility ✅Speaking up about hazards ✅Following safety procedures diligently ✅Setting a safety example ✅Attending safety training eagerly ✅Mentoring others on safety Every employee shapes safety culture. It's a choice—be part of the solution. 🔍 Delve into the insights of Rodney Cobos, Business Manager and Financial Secretary for Southern California Pipe Trades District Council 16, as he shares his journey from the military to union leadership. 🛠️ "My father-in-law, who was a union plumber, encouraged me to apply, take the tests, and go through the interviews," Cobos reflects. "I decided to pursue it, and it turned out to be a life-changing decision. Working in a non-union capacity for a brief period allowed me to see the stark contrast in pay, working conditions, and how I was treated compared to union work. Joining the union transformed my life, enabling me to buy a house and enjoy the benefits of the union." From towering structures to intricate plumbing, we're reflecting on the outstanding work of Pan-Pacific Mechanical on the Grand Avenue Parcel Q project, designed by Frank Gehry, in downtown LA! 🏙️ 👏 As a member company of CPMCA, Pan-Pacific Mechanical showcases expertise in hospitals, high-rises and more. This project specifically consisted of a 45-story residential tower and a 28-story hotel tower which both sit on top of a seven-story multi-use podium. The podium contains multiple retail/food and beverage spaces, two pools and several other resident amenities including a fitness gymnasium and all of the facilities of a luxury hotel. 🏗️ This project is one of the companies most substantial endeavors and proved to be important in fostering meaningful connections with Related Companies. Revisit out blog to hear from Senior Project Manager, Glenn Phillips, about the project and to get an insider's look at the complexity, and challenges behind this monumental endeavor: https://bit.ly/3J1JJXT

Is Gen Z becoming the toolbelt generation? 🤔 🛠️ The Wall Street Journal recently published an article about the growth of Gen Z's interest in trades. Citing competitive pay and new technologies as major reasons for this shift, WSJ writes that Gen Z students are less and less impressed with the college track and are instead opting for careers that allow them to get the most out of their lifestyle. It’s an interesting time to capture this move of Gen Z towards trades and at CPMCA we are optimistic about the opportunity to catch the next wave of industry professionals. 📰 Take a look at the article, here. #CPMCA #careersinconstruction #mechanicalcontractor #plumbing #hvac #tradeassociation #networking #contractor #californiatrades
