We envision a world where organic is the norm.

About us

CCOF advances organic agriculture for a healthy world. We advocate on behalf of our members for organic policies, support the growth of organic through education and grants, and provide organic certification that is personal and accessible. CCOF is a nonprofit organization governed by the people who grow and make our food. Founded in California more than 40 years ago, today our roots span the breadth of North America and our presence is internationally recognized. We are supported by an organic family of farmers, ranchers, processors, retailers, consumers, and policymakers. Together, we work to realize a future where organic is the norm. CCOF includes three legally distinct entities. CCOF, Inc. is governed by a board of directors, and provides infrastructure for the certification, advocacy, and Foundation programs, and also supports a regional chapter system for its members. CCOF Certification Services, LLC, governed by the LLC management committee, is a USDA National Organic Program (NOP)-accredited organic certification agency that certifies over 3,000 members in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The CCOF Foundation is a nonprofit foundation that includes educational programs for current and prospective organic farmers through the Organic Training Institute, gives grants to students and teachers studying organic through the Future Organic Farmer Grant Fund, hardship assistance grants for organic farmers, and consumer education campaigns about the benefits of organic. Ask your Representative to give organic its fair share of investment in the Farm Bill tomorrow!

📣 House Farm Bill Fails to Address the Needs of the Growing Organic Sector 📣 TAKE ACTION > https://lnkd.in/daePP2YA On May 17, G.T. Thompson, Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, released proposed legislative text for the House Farm Bill. On Thursday, May 23, the bill will go to ‘markup’, during which the House Agriculture Committee will debate this massive 942-page draft legislation and consider amendments to the bill. NOC appreciates that the House Farm Bill continues support for several critically important organic programs, including funding for the National Organic Program, the agency that oversees the growing organic sector, the Organic Certification Cost Share Program, and the flagship organic research program (OREI). Unfortunately, the bill assumes a stagnant organic sector, rather than providing the necessary resources to keep pace with the growing organic food and farming sector. We need your help! Contact your Representative to let them know that organic agriculture deserves a fair share of investments in the Farm Bill.  TAKE ACTION > https://lnkd.in/daePP2YA
