Parent-mediated ABA puts caregivers at the forefront of their child’s care. By reducing the need for scheduled sessions with a paraprofessional, parents are taught ABA strategies by licensed/certified high-level clinicians. Parents are taught to use ABA strategies throughout the day to improve skills and reduce challenging or dangerous behaviors. Join a discussion hosted by Catalight and Behavioral Health Business that explores parent-mediated Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and how it helps parents, children, and the industry.

"Post-Pandemic Telehealth Tips for Providers Working with Autistic Children" 📰 Read the article: https://lnkd.in/eEMVaWm8 The pandemic has increased our comfort with #telehealth, particularly benefiting #autistic children and their families by providing positive interactions and reducing anxiety associated with in-person appointments. Organizations like Catalighthave seen the value of telehealth in improving access, understanding children's needs, and ultimately enhancing the quality of life for those with autism and their families. Here are some key insights on optimizing virtual interactions: 🔍 Assessing #Support Needs: Understanding the level of support a child requires is paramount. While direct interaction may not always be feasible, involving parents or caregivers can offer invaluable insights into the child's behavior. 🎈 Capturing Attention: Engaging a child remotely demands #creativity. From animated expressions to utilizing favorite toys, our approach centers on fostering #connection in the virtual space. 👀 Navigating Eye Contact: In the virtual realm, traditional cues like eye contact mean less. Instead of fixating on eye contact, prioritize #connection and communication through alternative means. 🏡 Optimizing Environment: Creating a conducive setting for telehealth visits is critical. Minimizing distractions and #sensory stimuli helps maintain focus and facilitates meaningful interactions. Telehealth isn't just about convenience; it's a catalyst for transformative care. By embracing this technology, we can empower families and enhance the well-being of autistic children, ensuring they receive the support they need, when they need it.
