The Castle team in San Diego just wrapped up the Balboa Avenue Warehouse project! 🙌💪💥 Castle completed the earthwork for the new concrete tilt-up warehouse being constructed by FCL Builders, LLC in San Diego. Castle utilized a pair of Cat 657 scrapers and a Cat D8T dozer to complete mass excavation and grading for the new 100,000-square-foot warehouse. Castle crews also installed pavement, curbs, and sidewalks, as well as, fine grading for landscaping, utilizing a paddlewheel, blade, dozer, and skip loader. Castle recently completed site demotion, over-excavation, recompact and finish grading activities for the Legoland Parking Structure project in Carlsbad, CA! 🌟 Castle deployed a pair of Cat 623 scrapers, a Cat D6 dozer, and a Cat 824 compactor to complete the grading work in just four days. The team then utilized a GPS-controlled motor-grader to fine-tune the subgrade. Once the pad was certified, Castle excavated for footings and McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. started vertical building for the parking structure. This past Saturday, McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. hosted an incredible "Exploring STEM Through Construction" event, and it was a huge success! 🎉 Around 60 high school students, along with their parents, counselors, and guardians, spent the day diving into the exciting world of Construction through a variety of engaging STEM activities. 🏗️🛠️ 🌟 Castle was thrilled to participate by hosting our own station where students had the chance to operate a mini excavator. They practiced scooping basketballs off cones and placing them into a trash bin, all while our expert Castle Operators guided them through the controls and ensured everyone stayed safe. It was a fantastic hands-on experience that gave students a real taste of what a career in construction can be like. A big thank you to McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. for organizing this event and to everyone who came out and participated. 💥Material Handling and Storage for Rigging ⚠️🚧 As part of our daily tasks, we handle heavy pipes and materials. To ensure safety, we adhere to one of the three OSHA-approved rigging methods. It's crucial that our workers follow guidelines and only qualified personnel attach the sling to each load based on the manufacturer's data and instructions. Our options include the vertical (or straight) hitch, choker hitch, or basket hitch.
