  • Caring, driven, and remarkable people are at the very heart of our organization. Today, we want to take a moment to celebrate one of those people, our Chief Culture Officer, Carlyn Andrew. In the past few months, Carlyn has earned accolades as a Future 15 recipient for her work throughout our community and as the Regional Trainer of the Year for the Midwest Region for her local, regional, and national impact across the Boys & Girls Club organization. Carlyn, who is approaching her 13th year with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley, brings extensive experience in youth and family mental health, wellness, and development. As Chief Culture Officer, she oversees organizational safety, trauma-informed implementation, talent development, and Youth and Family Counseling. Carlyn is a crucial advocate for mental health, suicide prevention, and trauma healing, extending her influence locally and nationally. Her expertise includes being a founding member of the Community Alliance for Trauma-Informed Care and having a hand in pioneering the Sources of Strength program in Wisconsin schools, along with extensive training in mental health and suicide prevention. Carlyn was the first trainer in Wisconsin to bring Sources of Strength, an upstream suicide prevention program, to middle and high schools in the tri-county region. She also led the organization in creating its first-ever Trauma-Informed Intensive for Boys & Girls Clubs staff throughout the Midwest, which has now cascaded to other regions. Her talent development and training expertise have led her to present and conduct sessions on self-developed and nationally recognized curriculums. Carlyn's blend of disciplined lifelong learning, creative thinking, and commitment to continuous growth and improvement shapes a brighter future for young people and communities. Thank you, Carlyn, for all the ways you uplift and drive powerful change in all you do! Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce, Pulse Young Professionals Network

At our Clubs, the mental and emotional well-being of our next generation is a top priority. As we confront the growing youth mental health crisis, we are dedicated to implementing a holistic approach that ensures Club youth receive the essential support they need. We're so moved by this incredible video by Blue Cross Blue Shield Association that captures the essence of our partnership. This collaboration is more than a commitment - it's a recognition of how we nurture the mental health of our Club youth, families, and staff through trauma-informed practices. Thank you to The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley for sharing how partnerships like these can profoundly amplify our efforts and impact in nurturing the resilience and mental wellness of our youth. • It's been an exciting month for our 2023-24 Youth of the Year winner, Noah, as he recently participated in the statewide Youth of the Year competition! Noah had the chance to connect with the candidates from across the state, tour the Capitol, meet with elected officials, including Governor Tony Evers, Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Brian Hagedorn, and State Senator Jorge Cabrera. Noah also had the opportunity to deliver his inspiring Youth of the Year speech from the State Senate Chamber. This experience was truly unforgettable, and we're proud to see Noah soar to new heights! And a big congratulations to this year's Wisconsin Youth of the Year, Loren, who attends the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee! #GreatFutures #YouthOfTheYear
