Rick first joined Boom part-time in 2018, but early in his tenure, Rick picked up anywhere he could, including operational support, research, and community engagement. Rick's been promoted several times, most recently into a Game Designer and Social Media role. A fun fact about Rick's career at Boom related to this post is that we led an internal innovation competition for our flagship app, Boom Fantasy, and Rick's idea, Squad Ride, beat out 54 other submissions. His submission and eventual pitch were so successful that the team knew we wanted to add this to the product roadmap, and that is how Squad Ride was born.

We've been alerted of a Recruitment Scam using the real names of Boom employees through a fake email address. Multiple Animator candidates have reached out to let us know that someone is impersonating our HR team. Unfortunately, this is fraudulent, and we have no such opening. We have reported this recruitment scam to the FTC and IC3 and will diligently respond to any inquiries as they come in. 

Employee Spotlight: Rafael Jesus Hernández Vasquez Rafa led Boom's recent project to bring the Trifecta Pick EM game to Golf Logix. Trifecta Pick EM is a free-to-play game where users pick three golfers each week for a chance at a $5,000 jackpot cash prize. Rafael enjoyed bringing this game to another application, Golf Logix. We also asked Rafa to walk us through something he's learned since joining Boom, highlighted below: "At Boom, I have had the opportunity to participate as a leader in creating, building, and deploying some great products using the Google Cloud Platform. It's also fun to have the opportunity and the ability to work across other verticals of the business, such as monolithic, micro-services, databases, mobile and web apps, interviews, design documents, etc. Above all else, the biggest area of growth and learning for me at Boom has been developing more confidence in myself. Boom has invested in my leadership growth over my three years here, and I am thrilled to lead a very talented team. Working with such talented and smart individuals is ultra-rewarding and motivating."

Highlighting a couple of wins our Casino Team accomplished in January. Specifically, new operator launches! • Launched Boom's casino content on Golden Nugget in Michigan on January 17th. This is the first time our content has appeared on Golden Nugget anywhere. More states will follow in the coming months. • Our casino content was part of the Fanatics Sportsbook and Casino launch in Pennsylvania on January 22nd. This is the second state where we have launched content with Fanatics, including their headline blackjack game, Fanatics Blackjack. Thrilled to continue to see our custom content reach new markets and players in 2024!

Boom Entertainment has partnered with Fanatics Betting & Gaming to supply them with premium branded content, including their premier blackjack game, Fanatics Blackjack, which went live as part of their sportsbook and casino launch in West Virginia this week. Boom is working closely with Fanatics on a lineup of additional custom-branded games and will be right there with them as they continue to launch their casino platform in additional states. For today's Employee Spotlight, we introduce you to Devin Lewis, Operations Coordinator. Devin celebrated his one-year Boom-iversary last month and continues to make lasting impacts on the team. In addition to the quote in the image, Devin shares some insight into what he has learned since joining Boom. "I’ve learned to adapt as an operator. We’re in an industry that is constantly changing, and no two days are the same in my job. It keeps the job fun and exciting. I have also learned to listen to the team around me and give everything a second or third thought. We have a lot of great and talented minds working at this company, and it can change your perspective on a lot of different areas in a positive way. I’m motivated by my team. They’re easy to work and interact with, and it allows me to be more productive in my job. I’m also a really competitive person. I want to work on the best DFS platform in the world, so that keeps me motivated each day." 

LIVE on the Sports Predictor App is newly released, Coin Flip Live, hosted by Boom's favorite Game Designer, Rick Rosen. We interviewed Rick ahead of the launch about some of the reasons he's excited about Boom's future. "As much as I love hosting Coin Flip Live, I'm always excited about what's next. Right now, I'm working on game concepts that really blur the lines of iCasino and gaming, and that's really exciting to work on." **"Walk me through something you have learned since joining Boom."** "It sounds so silly, but learning how to be part of a team is really something I've worked hard on at Boom. It's not just about being more collaborative but also about understanding your role and trusting your teammates. I know it's a lot of "sports speak," but I promise it all applies!"

A few times a year, employees participate in an internal health and fitness challenge. We started our health and fitness challenge on September 1st, and this time, we paired it with a new employee benefit, A Wellness Program! Our Wellness Reimbursement Program gives employees the opportunity to expense eligible purchases up to a certain amount each month. Boom Entertainment is excited to offer this as the program encompasses a variety of choices rather than specific brands that would hinder employees outside of metropolitan areas. A few hits so far are spas, a round of golf, audiobooks, and gym memberships. Wellness, whether physical, emotional, intellectual, or other, is important as it shapes nearly every aspect of everyday life. Studies have shown that good workplace wellness means reduced absenteeism and higher employee morale. Boom Entertainment Acquires NBC Sports Predictor to Accelerate Its Daily Fantasy Sports Growth. We're very excited to announce the popular NBC Sports Predictor App will be re-branded Predictor. Predictor will continue offering its popular free contests across multiple sports and several new game formats debuting this fall. “NBC Sports Predictor has been a significant part of Boom’s story since its launch,” said Stephen A. Murphy, co-founder and CEO of Boom Entertainment. “This was the first product we built that attracted millions of sports fans, and we are honored to become stewards of the product and introduce new ways to play for sports fans."
