ABOUT BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE For more than 120 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee (BGCMT) has enabled all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible leaders. Annually, more than 7,000 youth are served at thirteen Middle Tennessee Boys & Girls Clubs and through community outreach initiatives. Clubs are located in Davidson & Williamson counties. Boys & Girls Clubs provides a safe place, professional caring staff, fun and friendship, and high-impact youth development programs on a daily basis during critical non-school hours. BGCMT’s strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency have earned it a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator. Boys & Girls Clubs give youth a sense of belonging and the tools to achieve academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good citizenship. Thousands of golfers have enjoyed the Ingram Cup Golf Challenge while knowing the funds raised provide youth ages 5 to 18 a safe place to go after school and in the summer. There are multiple ways you can partner with us for the Ingram Cup Golf Challenge. Our Code Academy summer camps are week-long immersive learning experiences for youth in grades 5th-12th. Camps focus on coding concepts and app design and culminate in an end-of-summer app pitch competition. Camps run from June 3 - July 19 in various Davidson & Williamson County partner locations. One week left until my San Diego marathon birthday run to raise money for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee (BGCMT)! I am so grateful for all of the donations and words of encouragement. I am 25% to my goal and in the final days, I am calling on friends that are able to support to use the link below to donate. Link to donate: https://lnkd.in/drmv84Xy (tax deductible) This week’s update is coming to you from the desk of ‘The Tortured Toes Department’, I find myself asking “Who needs toenails anyway?” With 11 days and 8 toenails remaining, my body is feeling the impact from the extra miles under my feet. Imposter syndrome is setting in and I’m having an inner dialog almost daily about whether I’m in over my head and if I can really do this. This run isn’t about me though – it’s about the youth that are served by BGCMT so I’d like to share more about them. The mission of BGCMT is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. While the kids receive so much at the clubs, membership is extremely affordable at only $25/year. For perspective, we’ve raised enough money in this fundraiser to cover the annual membership for 400 club kids!!! I know some people reading this may be hesitant to donate $26, maybe feeling like it’s not enough to be meaningful so no point in donating. That’s the amazing thing about BGCMT though – your donation goes so much further than you think - $1 per mile gives a child a safe place to go after school every day for an entire year and provides them with engagement that will get them ready to read, ready for class, ready to graduate, ready for a career, and ready to serve the community!
