As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the importance of mental well-being every day. This month has been a powerful reminder that taking care of our minds is just as crucial as taking care of our bodies. Our Tampa Engage team treated the center to beach ball stress balls, a Project Pup visit and surprise raffles throughout the month as we close out our fiscal year. Let's carry this awareness forward, continue to support one another and remember that it's okay to seek help and practice self-care.

We recently had the privilege of hosting the Pace Center for Girls. During the visit, we had the opportunity to share our insights into what it is like working at Baker McKenzie. We were thrilled by the level of engagement and depth of questions we received from the girls. We hope that by providing them with the knowledge and understanding of the world of law, we have further enabled them to pursue their future ambitions. "As a dad to two young girls, the opportunity to connect with the PACE girls is one I’m grateful to have received. I stepped away from my too brief conversations with these future leaders energized and excited by what the future holds for them and us!" - Charles Lanzdorf, Manager in Alternative Legal Services

As we celebrate Earth Day this year, let's take a moment to reflect on our collective responsibility towards the planet. Whether it's reducing waste, conserving energy, or supporting eco-friendly initiatives, every action counts. Our actions today will shape the world of tomorrow and together, we can make a difference. Let's use Earth Day as a reminder to recommit ourselves to protecting our plant for future generations.

The Tampa Center was happy to sponsor and participate in the 2024 Dress for Success Powerwalk! We were able to raffle off two tickets for our employees to attend the event at the Citrus Park Town Center. Our lucky winners, Elisa Rosado and Medhane Redda, joined the Dress for Success Tampa Bay community as they celebrated healthy living, family, fitness, and financial independence at this annual event. Did you know that more than 60% of Dress for Success clients are single mothers? Dress for Success works every day to, "empower women experiencing poverty, re-employment, and a need for skills development to complete in the current job market." Thank you, Dress for Success, for all you do to empower women toward economic independence! #DressforSuccess #Lovewhereyouwork

Jennifer Sholl, Steven Groombridge, and Paul Roethel joined us in the Tampa Center for an in-person workshop focusing on developing and implementing new processes and establishing a strong plan for reaching our year-end targets. We developed ways to strengthen our working relationship with our North America Billing Partners and Client Revenue Teams. We also took time to engage with the team, to generate new ideas, and share our accomplishments. Interested in joining the finance team at Baker McKenzie? We are hiring! Last, but not least in our Meet the Leadership series, allow us to introduce Sintia Saenz, pioneering the future of legal solutions as our Associate Director of Alternative Legal Services. 1. What is your role, and how long have you been with the firm? I am the Associate Director of the Alternative Legal Services teams in Baker McKenzie’s Tampa Global Service Center. In this role, I oversee the Professional Services teams in Tampa, including the Contentious Support Group, Corporate Support Unit, and Legal Project Managers. I have been with Baker just over five years. 2. What do you love about working at the firm? I love the diversity Baker McKenzie has cultivated. Every day, I have the opportunity to work with individuals that are dedicated, hardworking, kind and diverse. My colleagues, working in the Center and those around the globe, have become close friends. “Does this translate” is now part of my vocabulary as we share our authentic perspectives and stories. 3. What do you like to do for fun? My son just turned three years old. He is now at an age where we are discovering the things we enjoy doing together. We call these “adventures” or “exploring.” One of our favorite things to do on a beautiful weekend day is to hike our local trails. On our hikes, we have found armadillos, rabbits, centipedes, and all kinds of wildlife which we then learn more about at home.
