As we mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings and acknowledge the many stories of courage and resilience from those that served, Ancestry is proud to open up its entire collection of military records for free until June 11, 2024. Across the Ancestry site and Forces War Records, over one billion military records are ready to be explored - we hope the discovery of connections to this pivotal moment in history brings joy to many and keeps the memory of those we lost alive for generations to come. #WeAreAncestry #Ancestryforall

Meet our Employees who are Making History - Joon Song, Senior Marketing Manager What I do at Ancestry: I collaborate closely with product and #marketing teams to strategize and work on initiatives that aim at delivering optimal value to our customers. This involves two primary work streams including, the introduction of new products and the refinement of existing offerings through new bundles or enhancements. We have world class talent here and everyone is willing to partner and work together to reach our goals. What’s your “Family Thing”: My mom always told us growing up that you bond the most while sharing a meal. So we really love having dinner together whether it be at home or out at a restaurant. With Mother’s Day approaching, there is no better time to celebrate mom than by discovering what makes her, her. Spoiler alert: a lot has to do with genetics. Is she a night owl or an early bird? Picky eater? Introvert or extrovert? And which of those traits have been passed down? Mother's Day is the perfect time to find out and celebrate all that moms are! Our Corporate Genologist, Crista Cowan, shares in a recent interview how AncestryDNA makes it easy to find out which traits we get from each parent, the types of traits that the tests show, and how we can form a better connection with our family because of it. Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/g_mpfPdK

Today Ancestry is proud to announce its largest public-private and largest archive collaboration in its 40-year history with the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration, digitizing tens of millions of records that will be added to Ancestry over the course of the next five years. By combining the expertise of both organizations, this project furthers the collective goal to provide equitable access and deliver unmatched quality in digitization and indexing of historical records. The scope and depth of these records will reflect the richness and diversity of America’s history that could be critical pieces of family stories, including WWII U.S. Morning Reports, draft cards from the Korean War era, Naturalization and Immigration records, Asian American records, and Native American records, among others, and reflect the richness and diversity of America’s people. In a The Washington Post exclusive published this morning, Ancestry’s Senior Director of Content Acquisition, Quinton Atkinson, shared, “We are unlocking access to millions of documents and records that we can publish and make available more broadly than we ever have before.” https://lnkd.in/gAPmdfGv #WeAreAncestry #AncestryForAll #WeAreTheCurious
