our team sure does clean up nicely! earlier this week, we attended the Brooklyn Children's Theatre Gala for the second year in a row. this year's gala was a celebration of 20 years of impactful work in the community and we were honored to be a sponsor of this gorgeous night. Brooklyn Children's Theatre's incredible mission is to bring together students from diverse backgrounds to learn + grow through the collaborative art of musical theatre. they reserve space in each of their classes for low-income students so that the program truly reflects the diversity of Brooklyn. in FY23, 77% of BCT students attended on scholarship and 74% of the students identified as BIPOC. the evening consisted of phenomenal performances by the Brooklyn Children's Theatre kids and some iconic Broadway stars, including Micaela Diamond, Tamika Lawrence and Kristolyn Lloyd, emotional + heartfelt speeches by CEO of Grantmakers for Girls of Color, Monique Couvson, Ed.D. and Tony-Award-winning Actor/Director/Producer, LaChanze Sapp-Gooding and was hosted by John Oliver so you can imagine the laughs throughout the night!

during our spring conference in Oceanside, California, we partnered up with Orangewood Foundation to assemble 640 hygiene kits. these kits will go to adolescents + young adults in Orange County, many of whom are exiting foster care, experiencing hunger + homelessness, and developing life skills. giving back is a cornerstone of what we do here at amika. we're passionate about partnering with organizations like Orangewood Foundation that are making real impacts in their communities. learn more about Orangewood Foundation: https://bit.ly/4aF7kcc
