Our Airmen are driving change: An Air Force Installation and Mission Support Airman played a pivotal role in helping a former teammate establish a partnership between Air University and Fayetteville State University marking it as the first Historically Black College or University to join the AU Associate-to-Baccalaureate Cooperative Program. The AU-ABC program helps Airmen pursue advanced education by partnering with more than 100 civilian institutions to create a near seamless transition of credits from the Community College of the Air Force and career training to apply towards earning a bachelor’s degree. #Airman #education #HBCU

Cutting-edge data prep and data visualization tools are changing the way we do business. AFIMSC is providing the resources decision-makers need with platforms like the PRISM project that provide snapshots of installation support metrics, ATLAS basing and beddown tool, manpower and personnel models, and resource management allocation models. The tools provide the holistic site picture commanders need in real time to assess performance and make decisions across multiple installation and mission support areas. #data #dataanalytics #USAF #defense

Our Air Force Sustainment Center air logistics complexes have established close to two dozen educational agreements with academia since 2019, traditionally for the purpose of cultivating science and engineering partnerships. 🛩️Build and fly a small UAS in less than 24 hours? Challenge accepted! A group of Air Force field grade officers and black-shirted innovators, known as Black Phoenix, created a goal to design, create, build, and fly an unmanned aerial system within 24 hours. Around the 22.5-hour mark, the team secured the tail pieces and lastly, the propellers. The final step on a journey, that started more than six months prior, was to put the UAS in the air. The officers began the project as part of their Blue Horizons fellowship. Blue Horizons is an Air Force Center for Strategy and Technology mission that is part think-tank, part incubator that promotes unconventional thinking and processes to Air Force problems with strategic impact. Their three-person team took on the task of evaluating how to rapidly adapt small UASs, their technology and payloads based on the need and environment. #USAF #sUAS #defense #AVgeek

The Air Force Security Forces is looking to strengthen the combat arms training and maintenance community while also delivering better training opportunities for Airmen and Guardians. 🔌✈️It's electric! Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Geraghty, 96th Test Wing commander, was one of approximately 20 test pilot volunteers to try out the Pipistrel Velis Electro electric aircraft with the 35-foot wingspan during its three-week field trip to Eglin Air Force Base. He, along with other Eglin test pilots, flew the twin-seat Electro with an instructor for approximately 45 minutes each consisting of pattern work, area maneuvering, and stalls. Afterward, they provided specific feedback and observations about the flight called qualitative evaluations that drew from their unique test experience. The information gathered from the QEs, which will happen throughout the year, will clarify and validate expectations about electric aviation usage. AFWERX #USAF #defense #electricaircraft

#ICYMI The Department of the Air Force will continue funding Anduril and General Atomics for detailed designs, manufacture, and testing of production representative test articles under the Collaborative Combat Aircraft program.
