The death of over 270 Palestinians at Nuseirat refugee camp this weekend reflects, once again, that there is no safe place in Gaza. Action Against Hunger remains steadfast in our calls for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and release of hostages, reminding all parties to the conflict that indiscriminate attacks and the targeting of civilians and civilian objects contravenes the very bedrock of international humanitarian law.

With famine imminent in Gaza, our teams are working hard to respond to urgent need. We are one of the few humanitarian organizations working on nutrition projects in Gaza, and we recently launched a program in Deir al Balah to prevent malnutrition among pregnant and breastfeeding mothers and children under five years old. Currently, more than half a million children and mothers are in need of nutritional assistance.

Every year, around half a million young Nepalese, mostly men, leave their country to find job opportunities elsewhere. Women are left behind to manage the farms themselves. In a country where one-third of the population lives below the poverty line, these women face unbelievable challenges. In Nepal, Action Against Hunger is working with local communities to strengthen health facilities, rebuild water systems, and distribute basic necessities like hygiene kits and food. Meet Goma and Alita, two women from these communities who tirelessly fight for equality.

Action Against Hunger | ACF-USA reposted this
We've officially kicked off our project in Mali! Last week, we held an in-person launch event in Bamako to explore innovative health mutuelles (insurance) models for rural farmers. In collaboration with agricultural organizations and key stakeholders, we're supporting the Government of Mali's commitment to reducing the financial impact of health expenditures on households by expanding health insurance programs. Our efforts aim to increase access to affordable health mutuelles, improve health insurance schemes, and enhance the enabling environment for these programs, all while building health system #resilience through cross-sectoral approaches.

#PROPELAdapt Mali, under the inspiring leadership of Diarratou Zeba, launched a learning journey to explore new models of health mutuelles (insurance) for rural farmers. Working hand in hand with agricultural farmer organizations representing rice, mango, cotton, potato and other crops, the Ministry of Health and Direcorate for Social Protection and Economoic Solidarity, and other stakeholders PROPEL Adapt Mali kicked off with a co-creation event in Bamako.
