Learning in general is the art of connecting unknown with the known. 1) The best online course that I've come across for brand strategy & brand management, is "Brand Management: Aligning Business, Brand and Behaviour" by Nader Tavassoli, University of London. It is an elaborate & well-thought out course. 2) Once you finish the course, you'll be able to differentiate branding strategy from graphic design. Next step is for you to dissect and analyse your favourite brands and why they are liked by people. This will help you to postulate & arrive at strategies. 3) Follow Seth Godin. He is a master in branding strategy and his works will give you a jump-start in your brand strategy journey.
Reading is an essential part of mastering brand strategy. Look for blogs, articles, and e-books that delve into case studies, theories, and the latest trends in branding. This will not only keep you informed about what's happening in the industry but also expose you to different perspectives and strategies. Reading widely helps you understand how successful brands have navigated their markets and how they communicate their value proposition to their target audience.
-
Read books by experts, but stay up to speed on what's happening and trending in branding, by following some global brands. Sign up to their newsletters and you'll be notified whenever a new article, blog, whitepaper or something else emerges. Check out Hubspot and Brandwatch websites. Break down the different elements of brand strategy and identify people to follow on LinkedIn who post quality content. Sign up for their blogs, newsletters and more. For example, follow people or brands who post about brand style and identity, or people who post about brand story. Read about psychology, buyer behaviour, entrepreneurship, things your ideal clients enjoy and more. The more you read, the more you'll open your mind to "what could be".
-
New Material is published every day, Read and Read! 1. Expand your knowledge of brand strategy by reading books, articles, blogs, and whitepapers written by leading experts in the field. 2. Stay informed about emerging trends, innovative strategies, and case studies of successful brands to inspire and inform your own brand strategy efforts.
-
Go the widest possible and read classic literature as much as you can: it nourishes your brain, distracts you from business and masters your language. When your language is clean and rich - your ideas get crispier, you feel more confident and it becomes easier to build and pitch brand strategies (to both: your consumer and your executive board).
-
Reading helps you to explore different perspectives and it helps you to understand how people think which is the essence of consumer behaviour. If you are reading branding-related books, you'll understand what makes good brand strategy and what type of communications work. Books on culture and history should help you understand the roots of cultural influences. And all this together, when your brain starts connecting dots, becomes the creative inspiration for your next branding projects. The insights & ideas from reading make a special spot for you in a room full of executives.

-
From my experience, many online resources offer insights, but grasping the fundamentals is crucial. Brand often attracts individuals more for its trendy appeal than its scientific essence, leading to neglect of critical scientific aspects. Brand is a blend of science and art, yet the scientific aspect is frequently overlooked, resulting in brands failing to drive sales effectively. To master brand strategy, firstly, focus on understanding its basics. Secondly, connect with and learn from industry experts, maintaining a humble approach to knowledge acquisition. Thirdly, view brand not just as a marketing facet but as the essence of the entire business. Lastly, develop strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with people.
