This depends on the business nature. The business nature can define needs, tools, and techniques for improving business. Now, when it comes to freelancers, they are the ones who are the most easy-going regarding those tools and techniques. But this is a different story when it comes to remote work. Remote workers can include big and small teams, they are the only ones responsible for defining the most suitable way for networking.

-
I think I’ll go with Facebook communities for this. It has it all. Networking, collaboration, work opportunities and so on. A lot of people underestimate FB communities and groups. It’s just another shell to crack into and find the goodness.
-
Reddit, Stack Overflow, Quora: Los foros permiten intercambiar conocimientos y experiencias.
Messaging apps are essential for quick, direct communication with your network. They allow for real-time conversations, making it easier to foster relationships with colleagues across the globe. By engaging in one-on-one or group chats, you can maintain a steady flow of communication, share updates about your work, and stay in the loop with industry peers, all of which are vital for a thriving remote career.

I’m going to go with WhatsApp, Slack and Instagram. It’s quick and convenient. It helps me really filter out the BS and move quick with work.
-
I like Facebook Groups, followed by Alignable, and then LinkedIn. Communication is key and these Apps make it easier to do so. Of course, it depends on the kind of business and the maturity of the businesses you are seeking to communicate with will determine the App you use.
-
Profile platforms are the digital equivalent of a business card and resume combined. They allow you to showcase your skills, experiences, and professional achievements. By maintaining a detailed and up-to-date profile, you make it easier for others in your industry to find and connect with you. Networking on these platforms often leads to discovering new job opportunities, partnerships, or simply gaining valuable insights from fellow professionals.
-
Best mode of communication : Faster and easily accessible- Whatsapp / Slack/ Skype/ VC Quick mode of communication is need of hours and helps in faster execution and decision making.
-

Event schedulers are a boon for remote workers who need to organize or attend networking events. These tools help you keep track of upcoming events, RSVP to invites, and schedule your own meetups. They often come with features that facilitate interaction before, during, and after an event, ensuring you make the most of each networking opportunity that comes your way.
-
Calendly is one of the best on the market. It's easy to use, integrates with most other apps, and can facilitate 1 on 1 meetings or multiple attendees. I integrated mine with Zoom and it works well for me. I like Zoom as well because its features work well for my virtual events.
-

Our team uses Asana to collaborate on projects that range from speaking engagement preparation to client projects. We like the ability to duplicate projects to save time, add deadlines, and comment within tasks. With our entire team working remote, we find this platform to be incredibly effective for focused communication on specific tasks and projects. Outside of Asana, we use Slack and love it! We’re a no-internal-email company.
-
Several professional networking apps cater specifically to remote workers and freelancers, offering platforms for collaboration, networking, and skill sharing. I majorly use Slack which is a real time messaging platform that helps with file sharing and integration with other productivity tools. It allows teams to organize conversations into channels and external connections are shared through channels.

Virtual Meet-ups through online platforms have been my go-to places to create some great connections - both professional and human connections! The biggest advantage is that there are no restrictions in terms of physical borders and time! I have gained some great professional connections and collaborations across the world through @HNP - Happy Neighbourhood Project. Of course LinkedIn has been the best platform! In addition, coffemug.ai, WhatsApp Groups, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter (Now X) communities are also great places to create some amazing connections! Collaboration with other professionals, especially fellow Coaches, by doing Lives on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn have also enabled me gain some amazing connections!

Personally, I can’t choose one method over the over, because all of them are beneficial. Especially with the improvement of technology, in the last 10 years alone making everything mobile friendly. I am able to keep in touch with international clients, where ever I go, with apps on my mobile phone. I can connect virtually with anybody globally, without leaving the office using every single method. However, I can also see how in different professions (less office based roles), you would make use of different methods over the others.

Leveraging virtual meet-ups via online platforms, I've expanded my professional network beyond physical and temporal limits, notably through LinkedIn and the Happy Neighbourhood Project (@HNP). These platforms, alongside coffeemug.ai, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter (now X), have been pivotal in fostering both professional and personal connections globally. Despite the digital focus, I also value and continue to engage in in-person meetings.
