In my experience it takes time to understand your capacity and be able to not over deliver. In reality the best way i found to do this was to pair up with a couple of colleagues who work in the same way and exchange ‘check-ins’ so you can, at the very least hear yourself explain why you are going over the brief and for what purpose - sometimes needed.
