In reality the best way i found to do this was to pair up with a couple of colleagues who work in the same way and exchange ‘check-ins’ so you can, at the very least hear yourself explain why you are going over the brief and for what purpose - sometimes needed. Having someone who is in your area of expertise keeps accountability to yourself ongoing and real. Doing it just yourself is almost impossible. Especially as things don’t go according to plan and you may well need to find flexibility or outcome change. But that doesn’t have to mean allowing time to increase.
