I have been required to present complex arguments to strategic provider groups several times. at first, the very idea of doing so always made me very nervous, especially because of the fear of being wrong about crucial data in front of industry experts. The worst that could happen would be that others don’t receive it well, but that doesn’t make it any less valuable. The experience alone is an invaluable one that you can use to hone your skill. Is it to simply create a friendship or a connection, or is it someone that you can potentially do business with? One of my main goals in my professional career is to improve my ability to communicate complex analyses clearly and concisely during meetings with the Management Team. You will notice significant progress yourself. This will build confidence in you. Use other strategies like start writing on any random topic in your notes app. Ask chatbots or your friends for feedback and areas of improvement. Set goals like I will write two pieces every week. This will definitely be going to help you in improving your communication skills in the long run.
Like any skill, communication improves with practice. Engage in conversations intentionally, focusing on active listening and clear articulation of your thoughts. You might practice with friends, family, or even in front of a mirror. The more you practice, the more natural it will become. It's also beneficial to reflect on your interactions: what went well, what could be improved, and how you felt during the process. This reflection will help you adjust and improve over time.

In my experience so far in the sales world, constantly practicing and engaging in conversations with people will only make you better in your skill set. Taking time out of your day to practice effective communication whether it takes place in front of a mirror or with someone else will help you in live settings when meeting with prospective clients. It is also so important to record and listen to yourself speak because this will only help you take the next step forward in your process of becoming a better communicator.

What I think is Practice makes a man better. No one is perfect and you are also not required to be perfect. Practice is something that will make your communication better overtime. Try the tips below: Try self-talk: Every person is most honest to himself so try to self talk in a way like you are communicating an idea to someone else. Try Mirror talk: Stand in front of a mirror and talk to yourself for 15 min. Start small with ques like how I would introduce myself to someone. Write a script, learn it, and then practice it 4-5 times in front of the mirror daily. Do this daily for 1 month. Speak with family: Try small everyday commands like, what time is this, can you switch off the lights please etc with your family to overcome your fear.
Feedback is invaluable for growth. Reach out to trusted individuals who can provide constructive criticism on your communication style. They can offer insights into how you're perceived and areas where you can improve. While it might be uncomfortable to hear criticism, it's also an opportunity to learn and develop. Approach feedback with an open mind, and remember that it's not a reflection of your worth but a tool for improvement.

At first I was upset and felt like it was an attack but when i came to understand the purpose of that feedback was to help me become more effective I was able to see the truth and use that to improve my communication.

You might be filler words, wrong pronunciation etc in your speech. Identify the weakness and use AI to find possible solutions for the problematic areas.
Surrounding yourself with a supportive network can significantly boost your confidence. Seek out mentors, colleagues, or friends who encourage your growth and with whom you can practice your communication skills. These supporters can offer encouragement, help you navigate challenges, and celebrate your successes. They can also serve as role models, demonstrating effective communication behaviors that you can emulate.
