Personal Story - It makes a huge impact. Talk about things that make you unique. 3. Subject expertise - Choose it wisely and justify it with your preparation. 4. Make it interesting - How you speak and what new perspectives you believe is the key. 5. Talk like a human - Use feelings and emotions. Don't let the audience feel separate. They should feel you are like them. It's an easy way to engage the audience.

You MUST resonate with your audience to get their trust. By default, as humans, we don't trust, but there are a lot of ways, from speaking to overall body language that can open up minds and make an audience not only trust, but get behind you. Leadership development is a crucial part of any entrepreneurial journey. There are few that are born leaders. This does take a bit of work with a professional sometimes to really focus in on how you can best be who your audience needs and wants you to be. Sometimes it is to be more personable, and sometimes they want awe and wonder. I find that the easiest way to build trust from the stage is to share yourself authentically warts and all. I am a firm believer that people don't like and trust you because of what you've accomplished and all the greatness that you've done. Rather, they respect you because of the adversity you faced, the perseverance you had to cultivate, and the difficulties you've had to overcome. People want to relate to you. They want to see themselves in you. That is how you can make the biggest impact on them and help them take needed action when they walk away from your talk. Establishing credibility takes time. Be patient and persistent. Also, consider partnering with established brands or influencers to borrow some of their credibility while you build your own.

When speaking, it is more important that they trust your credibility as a storyteller and information sharer. Go through your talk, sharing the same data, statistics, and stories that you would normally share however, after you’ve captured the audience, you can then share that those data points and stories came from your own experience as an entrepreneur. That way, you hook them with the information and then let them know that you are in fact, the person who experienced that and you’re sharing from a personal perspective. By that time, they have already bought into the data and will be thrilled to know it came from you.
