Communication is very important, however, communicating the right stuff at the right time is what will keep you apart from the crowd. In my experience, senior leaders were impressed by silent workers when they spoke up only when needed, and speaking the right things at the right time. I've seen people communicating solely for the purpose of showcasing their skills, however, at the end of the day, how you work matters, and speaking the right things i.e. sharing out-of-the-box ideas, proposing solutions and not just talking about the problem, etc. Being a good listener is very important as well. Do not interrupt when your manager is talking. If you tend to forget what you are going to say, note it down, and express it later.

We cannot afford to miscommunicate, for lives are at stake and the risks are too high. 2. Once in a cordon and search operation, we announced for the populace to step out in two groups, men and women with children to designated areas. However, the announcement was confused with men with children and women. Resulting in utter chaos as these operations were commenced at dawn and children soon became restless without their mothers. 3. Fortunately, no Anti-National Element could take advantage of this situation, however this miscommunication could have had catastrophic results.
