Here's how you can advance your career as a remote worker in Corporate Social Responsibility.

'Survival of the fittest' is my preferred strategy as a remote worker. Typically in a CSR domain, your skills and competencies speak much more than your words. Remote working demands that you are job-ready for whatever project or task you are assigned. In such a scenario, I would begin by asking what kind of skills I need to build. Quickly get your training needs analysed and finalize the roadmap to build those skills. To excel in CSR, focus on building a robust skill set that aligns with industry needs like external communication and project management to synchronise with teams across different time zones. By becoming proficient in these areas, you'll demonstrate your commitment to potential employers or clients, even from a distance.

Invest in your CSR capabilities and knowledge and this will be rewarded by the industrie or new employer. Therefore you should use the folloeing possibilities while working fulltime in your regular job 1 Books and articles about CSR and sustainability topics (the classic way) 2 online courses 3 Free video content or podcasts 4 Webinars (free or paid) 5 social media groups 6 congresses ( not so easy while working fulltime) 7 study at a long distance university (money and time intensive but with a huge leverage potential) Choose what fits best to your needs and then stay for it. Consistancy is the key for success.

Even if you are an introvert do some kind of network. You must not pitch other people on a congress or an network event, but you should find ways to be visible. Here are some way how you can expand your network as an introvert. 1. Share knowledge via social media (no video needed) 2. commend others postings with helpful content. 3. write blog articles 4. Focus on your existing network and deepen these relationships 5. Push yourself a little bit out of your comfort zone, with small challenges like, talking to 3 new people on an event. See it as a game or sport 😉

Have a can do attitude an be open for new work and projects. Having said this you should also choose the projects wisely. At the beginning of your career or if you are new in the field of CSR it is more important that you start with collecting experiences. But the longer you are in the game and the deeper your experience allready is, the more you should have a clear decision tree on what to support and engage with. You can not expand your time, so you have to decide which experiences will enhance your skills and knowledge.

From my point of view, everybody is a brand, because other puts attributes at you. So why not working on this attribute? If you want to become a brand as a CSR Expert you can do the following: 1. Proactive communication of your knowledge 2. Content creation 3. give talks or write books or articles. 4. Be the face of a project 5. Attend and actively participate to events 6. Walk the talk. 7. Be authentic 8. Have one message and spread it over and over again. Allthough personal branding is much more then the 8 Topics, I think this is a good foundation to start with.
