Many UK universities are facing academic resets. To sustain a positive mindset after a layoff it is important to remember: 1. It is not personal. Business continuity is the reason why it has happened. 2. To retain the confidence that you are eminently qualified and highly experienced in your field 3. To take time to undertake some of the activities you may have postponed while you were working, i.e. training, spending time with family etc. 4. To refresh your CV and start applying for jobs.
