RESEARCH! Its always impressive when a candidate has connected with the interviewers on Linkedin prior to the interview and also researched the company's website. Also be prepared to ask questions about the company, team and the role (what has or has not worked in the past)!

One thing I love to hear from candidates is when they convey they have done their research. Even if it was 5 minutes on the company's website, you can share a piece or two to show you did it. A step further is even researching the person you are interviewing with. If they are active on LinkedIn, go ahead and connect as well! It will be make you stand out.
When discussing your previous experiences, choose stories that reflect your passion for the work. Talk about projects where you went above and beyond, or times when you were particularly excited about the outcome. This doesn't just show that you're capable of doing the job, but also that you find joy and satisfaction in the work. Your stories should paint a picture of someone who is not only skilled but also genuinely enthusiastic about their professional endeavors.

Have a few stories in your back pocket for responsibilities listed in the job description as that is usually what the questions will be focused on. Understand the STAR method and being able to convey your response that way will be effective.
Curiosity can be a powerful indicator of enthusiasm. Prepare thoughtful questions that go beyond the basics of the job description or the information on the company website. Inquire about the company's vision for the future, their culture, or how they measure success in the role you're applying for. Engaging the interviewer with insightful questions shows that you're already invested in learning more and becoming a part of the team.

As an interview, here are some of my favorite questions to be asked: What is not on paper that the hiring manager is looking for in the right candidate? Why do you continue to work for the company?
Your body language speaks volumes about your enthusiasm. Maintain eye contact, smile genuinely, and lean slightly forward in your chair to show engagement. Nodding in agreement and using hand gestures when appropriate can also convey your excitement. These non-verbal cues complement your words and help convince the interviewer of your genuine interest in the position.

Not everyone is naturally good at body language. It's a good idea to record yourself speaking with your mobile phone and later see the recording to spot areas you could improve. Mentioning something specific from the conversation shows that you were engaged and attentive. This final touch keeps you on the interviewer's mind and reinforces your passion for the job.
