In my opinion, nonverbal cues have two sharp sides. It's useful to convey the message easily but be conssious on how to convey it, level and use of the tune, different culture and others.

As I read somewhere (source: unknown), 40% of a message is conveyed through how it is said, such as tone of the voice and verbal expressions etc. 50% of the message is communicated through what we see and feel, such as eye contact, posture, and gestures etc. And, the actual words spoken constitute merely 10% of the entire message. This shows the significant impact of non-verbal communication in conveying clarity, emotions, and nuances that words alone cannot fully communicate.

Nonverbal communication often speaks louder than words in a healthcare setting. Be mindful of your body language, facial expressions, and eye contact. Ensure they align with the message you want to convey. Positive nonverbal cues can reinforce trust and confidence among your team and patients, while negative cues might create barriers to effective communication. Being aware of and controlling your nonverbal signals helps to create a more supportive and understanding environment, enhancing overall communication effectiveness.
