    Hulu is fully supported by the Fire TV Stick, but it can have the same problems that plague all streaming services. The program may freeze after loading commercials, switching between episodes, or loading live TV. Sometimes the app simply crashes and refuses to load again. If Hulu just isn’t working, resetting the app or Fire Stick will usually fix the problem.

    Why Does Hulu Keep Crashing on Fire TV?

    Problems with Hulu on Fire TV have several possible causes. Sometimes the app will give you an error code, but more often it will malfunction with no apparent cause. Your Fire Stick may have a poor Wi-Fi connection or junk files that cause performance issues. While you probably won’t be able to determine the cause every time Hulu crashes, these basic troubleshooting steps will fix it most of the time.

    How Do I Reset Hulu on Fire Stick?

    1. Restart the Hulu app. Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > Hulu, then choose Restart. This shuts the app off completely, ending background functions that may be causing the app to freeze.

    2. Restart the Fire Stick. If the Fire TV remote is unresponsive, you can reset the Fire Stick itself. Unplug your Fire Stick from your TV’s HDMI port, wait a few seconds, and then plug it back in. This is an easy way to restart the device and apps at the same time.

    3. Reset using the Fire TV remote. If your TV is mounted high on the wall, the Fire Stick may be out of reach. In that case, you can restart it with the remote by holding the button combination Select and Play/Pause. After about five seconds, the Fire Stick will restart.

    4. Clear the cache and data on the Fire Stick. Your Fire Stick may crash while processing junk files. Clearing the cache and data gets rid of unnecessary information stored on the device. Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > Hulu. There you’ll find the options Clear cache and Clear data. Perform these in either order.

      This will also remove user settings like your login information, so you’ll need to login and activate your device again.

    5. Restore the Fire Stick to factory settings. If Hulu still isn’t working properly after the above steps, you can try to give your Fire Stick a fresh start. This will remove all apps and information from your Fire Stick. Afterward you’ll need to log in again using your Amazon account.

      Before restoring your Fire Stick to factory settings, make sure Hulu isn’t having an outage and try restarting your router and modem.
