A $77,777 scratcher was recently sold at a northeast Columbia gas station, the Missouri Lottery announced Wednesday.

The winning scratcher was sold at Break Time on Roanoke Drive. The winner said he walked in, bought gas and asked the clerk to give him a $5 ticket. The clerk unknowingly handed him one of the "Silver 7s" game top prizes.

"I had to ask my wife, 'Does that say what I think it says?'" the winner said to the Missouri Lottery. “She said, 'I think so! I think you won $77,000!'"

In fiscal year 2023, players in Boone County won more than $26.1 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, according to a news release.
