JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Animal Control officers in Jefferson County rescued an injured bald eagle in the Golden area on Tuesday.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO), the officers found a young male eagle who could not fly near North Table Mountain, safely captured him and transported him to the Birds of Prey Foundation in Broomfield for rehabilitation and medical care.

Officials said the eagle suffered a broken leg and a head injury, but as of Wednesday afternoon, he was responding well to treatment.
