A commemoration of the 50 years of the Carnation Revolution (Revolução dos Cravos) in Portugal, that occurred in the 25th of April 1974.
The woman in the illustration is based on a real woman called Celeste Caeiro who was the first person to give carnations to the soldiers on that day, something that became a symbol and gave the revolution its name.
