Hi,
I'm new to Looker Studio and have been using it for about 4-5 months. I'm running into an issue with email-based filter.
I've set up a filter to display specific information to users based on their linked email ID. However, I've noticed that even the editors of the dashboard cannot view any data once this filter is applied, as i have not used the any of the filtered email id.
I want to know if something like this possible - I want to restrict , some 3-4 email ids who will have only access to their specific data and not all data, while the editor of the dashboard will still be able to view all the data irrespective of any filter.
Could someone please help me with a solution or provide guidance how to do it
You can do this using an Access Control list. For instance, say you want to restrict your data based on Departments, and Department is a field in your main data source. You'll create an Access Control List (in Sheets is easiest) that contains two fields: Email and Department. If someone needs access to multiple departments, they would have one row for each department.
Then you would create a blend with your ACL on the left, left-join on Department, to your main data source on the right. The ACL data source would use Email for Filter by Email.
