Hello for the past month i have been trying to learn how to do dashboard, my knowledge has become better, but one thing im trying to do and enhance my report.
So, i have metrics around 7 of them and i have been trying to use a chart and using the Y axis as date and X axis as company (brand)
and using the metrics as lets say brand communication as the first metric.
i would like instead of putting 7 charts i would like to make it easier for the viewer to i put the metrics as selectable option and they can press the option they desire so they can see the change instead of bloating the dashboard.
The issue im facing is when put a dimension control or any type of control the chart will make the X axis as the first metric (brand communication) and would show metrics that are confusing and wrong for the purpose of the dashboard.
TLDR:Is it possible to create a single chart where clicking a metric changes the data entirely (different metrics), while keeping the X and Y axes the same?
I hope i made some sense.
Hello @Abdul_117 ,Welcome on Google Cloud Community.
Dashboards are combined from widgets, were widgets are combined from one or more metrics. You can create single widget and add this widget to "Dropdown group". Then you will be able to choose which widget should be displayed.

1. Log in to your project.
2. Search for Dashboard. Click Create Dashboard
3. Click "CREATE DASHBOARD"
4. Name your dashboard as you want. After naming, click ADD WIDGET
5. From right-side menu choose Dropdown group
6. This will create dropdown container for your widgets.
7. Once again create widget. Choose Metric as widget type
8. Select and configure your metric.
9. Once done, click APPLY
10. Drag and drop your newly created widget in my case VM INSTANCE CPU and drop to Dropdown Widget area.
11. Your newly widget with CPU metric has been created and placed on Dropdown widget
12. You can also include your metric widgets by clicking on Widget -> Edit group -> Add widget -> Select widget and pick widget that you want to place under Dropdown menu
In this way you can create your widgets with metrics and combine layout as dropdown menu.
