Almost Love - Leaks and Hassle - Can Be a Pain

November 13, 2023I really want to love these. We bought one, and then a second. REI replaced the first because it became lose and developed a leak 80% of the time as it would just not seal correctly. Now the second one as well as the replacement for the first are developing the same issue.
They are PITA to clean. Disassembly isn't difficult but it's tedious and the silicone gasket which is integral to the design will wear. So will the harder rubber stopper on the inner portion. We use ours and clean them almost daily but this is simply a wear item and isn't worth replacing IMO. I'll just go with the regular type. Hydro needs to develop a cap with the flip-up stopper that includes a 2ndary lock, a design I've seen on other mugs. Hard to beat those and frankly I'm switching back to my other travel mug that uses it. Not as complicated to use or clean and it's never leaked on me.
And when I say leak, coffee breaches the inner seal and dribbles out through the gap between the top portion (which twists to open or seal) and the bottom portion which screws onto the flask... The location that it dribbles from places hot coffee right onto your chin while you drink, down the flask and onto your shirt.
Cool design, but it needs some tinkering.

May 5, 2023It's perfect for what I needed. A small coffee tumbler with a simple opening mechanism and that it leak proof. It's not different than others, but I find it pretty also.
The price is okay. It holds the temperature pretty well as described. The color finish is pretty resistant to scratches. It also easy to disassemble the lid to clean it.
I like the handle. It's comfortable to hold and you can also clip it to your bag with a carabiner. If you need a silicone base protector, it's the Small size that you will need. I like the fact that you can buy the lid separately if you need to (in case it breaks or the smell can't be removed).
I have been driving alot recently, so this is perfect for the cup holder. Just be aware that it holds around 350 ml. I personally think that this is a great bottle ( speaking for myself who bought too many bottle). The quality built is great.
Nothing bad to say about it so far. The opening is big, so you can easily put ice and it also makes it easy to clean it deeper with a sponge.
Good if it doesn’t break

October 28, 2023We have 4 of these, between daycare, under the car seat, a missing piece, a forgotten backpack, this and that we’ve just found it easier to have a bunch because there’s always one (or a piece of one missing. 3 of them are flawless, tough, easy to use but one has lost a little rubber part on the lid so it leaks. It’s a pretty small rubber part that’s pretty easy to pop out and loose, for that I give this bottle a 3 star. Apart from that it’s true to size and the colour is accurate. It keeps cold cold with double walls. The metal is tough, so is the plastic kid. The paint seems to not chip as easily as older models and they give 2 straws now which is nice. Overall a good product, perfect for pretty much any occasion. My toddler loves it for car trips, parks, whatever. Doesn’t spill upside down running around in a backpack full of stuff, pretty important when you’re out for the day with the little ones.
Perfect Water Bottle for Grandson

December 28, 2024I bought this for my 2.5 year old grandson to use when he comes over. It’s the perfect size and I love the bright color. The straw is very easy for him to use. It’s also easy to wash. I wash it by hand, though it’s supposed to be dishwasher safe. I’ve had issues with other brands of water bottles with the finish being ruined in the dishwasher, so would rather not take the chance. The only negative is the price, it’s a bit high for a small water bottle; but I’m partial to Hydro Flask.
