Lower Quality?

January 5, 2025My partner and I both have hydro flask bottles, now 4 between the two of us. I purchased this specific newer model for him for Christmas this year so he could have a cup holder compatible bottle with a chug top instead of a straw.
It seems this may be a lower quality or thinner steel than some of the other products in their product line. My partner dropped his today as he reached toward the trunk of our car - so maybe a 3ft drop, and the bottle is severely dented on the top, scratched on the bottom, and rocks slightly when set down. My case-free iPhone has survived worse drops than this was. It’s unfortunate - we really love this company and have several other bottles - and have certainly dropped them repeatedly without the kind of damage this one has now. It seems perhaps a defect with this specific bottle design.
These products are marketed to be “created for a world of adventures,” but the “durable” steel of this new bottle dented like cardboard on the sidewalk outside our home.
Stay away. Get one of the bigger, more durable bottles, and buy yourself a cupholder insert to make it compatible that way instead.
[Rewarded Review] The best I can find but nothing is perfect

December 3, 2024Defiantly nice for a insulated leak proof water bottle to finally fit into a cup holder rather than rolling all over the car and seems very sturdy. Accidently dropped this item right onto the plastic top onto the blacktop and just a scratch. Unlike my last bottle of a different brand which the plastic cap exploded under the same test. Unfortunately nothing is perfect. The slimmer base and tall design makes it top heavy and easy to knock over. The flip up straw is TOO easy to move and the flow will be interrupted if you so much as move it while drinking, needs to be tighter and there is not way to tighten it. Lastly all cup holders are different shapes and sizes and I find the base to be slightly too small for most cup holders, combine this with the top heavy nature and it moves around a lot while driving. If you have a 3D printer and can made a custom sleeve to your cupholder, that would be the play. Also I would like more capacity but i drink a lot of water. Overall a great bottle, not perfect but as close as I can find.

July 29, 2024Hydro Flask is simply top tier. Head of the curve. Even better performance than what they advertise at times. I've had mine for about 6 years and performance has not dipped. Hot beverage stays hot all day and is still warm the next day. Same with cold beverages. It just does what it's supposed. I've become a loyal Hydro Flask supporter just from one purchase. When anyone asks about getting a bottle, I immediately say Hydro Flask. Special edition cups, and the variety of sizes from 12 to 42 oz is a beautiful treat. Next thing is that my bottle never leaks, the seal is consistent even with all the bruises I've afflicted to mine. Caps are interchangeable from wide mouth to the others in most cases. I must say that you'll probably need a tool to reach inside the bottle to clean stains if you drink stainy liquids and don't clean immediately. 10/10 recommend.

May 22, 2024I bought this as a gift for my husband. For a while, he's been wanting a new waterbottle/ tumbler and for the occasional tea but never got around to getting one so I took this as an opportunity to find the right waterbottle for him. And I must say, I can't stop hearing him glorify how great this water bottle is. The handle is a huge plus, because he has big hands and it's comfortable to hold and if you slip it over your 4 or 3 fingers it doesn't hurt than if it were hard plastic. I also got some splash guards that I thought would be useful for when he has his occasional tea but but he hasn't used them yet nor has had tea in it... I did however use the bottle one day and used the splash guard because I have such a tony face/mouth and I was afraid of drenching myself and it held up great, it didn't fall out. The only thing for me is that since the cap is black, maybe I haven't figured it out yet but I do wish there was a way to take out the rubber ring inside the cap to clean so that mold doesn't build up, because you can see water gets under it. it's a great tumbler otherwise and since I recently lost one of my own, I'm thinking to get one of these myself
