Not so insulated food jar
Lisa· Review provided by hydroflask.com · October 6, 2024
I bought the 12 oz food jar to take on hikes and for work lunches. I am so disappointed. I thought paying more for an insulated container would result in a superior and reliable product. However, my experience is that it does not keep food hot or even warm. It is as if there is no insulation value to the jar at all. If I had not waited so long to use it for the first time, and lost my receipt in the interim, it would be going back to the store.
Sorry, I really wanted to like this product. Sadly, however, I will not be a repeat customer and will not be recommending this particular product to others.
Almost perfect

This is a wonderfully chilly container. I'll still need to see how it performs with hot foods.
I chilled the container overnight in the freezer so it could keep ice cream frozen for the beach. After four hours in an inadequate insulated grocery bag in the 75ish sun, it was still frozen. It wasn't super solid but it definitely wasn't melted!

I do wish the mouth was a touch wider for easier cleaning and filling/scooping. I also wish the lid could also be easier to clean, there's a deep crevice because it's insulated.

Overall, nice material consistent with Hydro Flask water bottles. Useful boot, easy to grip lid, nice color.
Not so great

Not as great as I expected. I only used it for warm foods, I always prime it with boiling water before putting super hot food in it. A few hours later, it’s lukewarm not hot. Like other cheaper thermos. But what I really hate is how narrow it is, not only it’s very hard to eat from eat it, it’s extremely difficult to hand wash even for someone with very small hands. Not sure if it can be washed in dishwasher, I saw conflicting instructions so I don’t take the chance.
Cute but not functional

We purchased these to keep food warm for lunches, but unfortunately they don't work. They do keep boiling water warm from 212 degrees to 122 after 4 hours. They did not keep spaghetti or chicken nuggets warm for 3 hours, so they're not for lunches. They look cute and we have been happy with hydro products thus far, but this one was a dud if you're trying to keep hot food warm.
