[Rewarded Review] Beautiful cup in limited edition color, works as advertised
Lisa A.· Review provided by hydroflask.com · May 31, 2024
In a world dominated with travel tumblers branded starting with a letter S, I read a big east coast city's Times review on best leakproof tumbler and they said that Hydroflask was the winner. So I said, everyone is carrying that other brand as a fashion statement, I want function. When I saw this limited edition color with its pink swirls, I said, "perfect". It's beautiful, it keeps my drink icy cold even overnight, and I really, really like the silicone straw rather than a rigid one. I have a (perhaps irrational but then it was on some episode of a fire/rescue drama my mom watches) fear of somehow falling or hitting a bump in the road and having a rigid straw pierce the roof of my mouth. The soft straw is comfortable and it flexes easily to my mouth when I'm driving, avoiding having to tilt my head in any weird way so as to momentarily shift my eyes away from the road. It fits my little cup holders in my Bronco Sport perfectly with the handle well above the level of the cup holder so there's no wobble. It sits squarely on my desk without being too top heavy so I don't worry about it tipping, and the press on lid is very secure. The straw is long enough to stir my sugar-free flavor drops into my water, and it is indeed encouraging me to drink more on a daily basis. Water, that is, not liquor. It's my job that encourages the latter (I kid, I kid). Anyway, you can't really go wrong with this design, I might order a second one in another color and have it engraved. And buy extra silicon straws, this one is pretty sturdy but I'm a straw chewer so who knows how long it'll stand my chompers. (The small bottle boot was purchased separately from Hydroflask.)
[Rewarded Review] Disappointed with My Hydro Flask Experience
Rodrigo G.· Review provided by hydroflask.com · September 5, 2024
I had high hopes for my Hydro Flask, given its stellar reputation and numerous positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory.
From the very beginning, I noticed that the bottle had a strange metallic taste that wouldn’t go away, no matter how many times I washed it. This made drinking water quite unpleasant. Additionally, the insulation performance was disappointing. My cold drinks would warm up within a couple of hours, and hot beverages would lose their heat even faster. This is a stark contrast to the advertised 24-hour cold and 12-hour hot retention.
The build quality also left much to be desired. After just a few weeks of light use, the bottle developed several dents and scratches, despite my careful handling. The lid, which is supposed to be leak-proof, started leaking after a month, making it impossible to carry in my bag without worrying about spills.
Overall, my Hydro Flask has been a letdown in terms of taste, insulation, and durability. I expected a premium product for the price I paid, but it has not lived up to the hype. I hope Hydro Flask can address these issues and provide a replacement that meets the high standards they are known for.
[Rewarded Review] Looks cool, stays cooler

Keeps drinks cold as expected—I would love to use this with iced coffee, but alas I don’t drink it during the colder months. However, I did test this side by side with a non-insulated bottle of the same volume, added the same amount of water and number of ice cubes, and the Hydro Flask still had plenty of ice in it after the non-insulated bottle’s ice fully melted. in practical terms, this means I’ll be able to fill my Hydro Flask with less ice and more iced coffee, and still expect it to stay cold during the time I’m drinking it. Also there’s no need to worry about condensation forming on the outside, so you can set this down on surfaces that you would usually need to protect with a coaster.

The straw is pretty convenient—I own a few silicone straws already, but rarely think to use them when I have a beverage around the house. Having it built-in makes it easy to use, and the straw is already in position to avoid clogging while still minimizing the amount of your beverage that gets left behind.

Relatively minor drawbacks—the handle itself is perfectly comfortable, but a full drink plus the weight of the Hydro Flask is not something you’ll want to hold for an extended period of time (as I found out when taking it for a walk). My hand is big enough to hold the Hydro Flask by the body instead of the handle, but if you have smaller hands that may be harder to do. You will want something to clean the straw (it may be dishwasher safe, but my dishwasher is not up to the task of cleaning it), and the bare coated metal bottom can be a bit noisy when setting it down on hard surfaces.

The minor drawbacks listed above honestly would not stop me from buying this Hydro Flask for myself, but I do think they’re worth taking into consideration if you’re buying it as a gift for someone, as they may not know that there are accessories or that the 32oz size is likely a better option for most people—more is not always better! It keeps your drinks cold, it looks cool, and it’s not much bigger than a regular non-insulated bottle.
Beautiful, well made tumbler

This is a great cup, but let's face it - it's a cup. I have older Yeti (a gift) and RTIC tumblers and they work fine, but this is a better design with the built in handle, silicone straw and powder-coat finish. I got the "Dew" color, which is almost a seafoam green but slightly lighter. It's very well made, looks nice and keeps my water cold for many hours. And because Dew was a discontinued color it was a bargain. I also purchased the Hydro Flask small bottle boot which fits snugly and I feel is a great accessory for it. The silicone straw is my favorite feature. I use a stainless straw in my Yeti tumbler and it doesn't have a nice mouth feel AND I have tipped it over and spilled it more than once. While it's still possible to tip over the Hydro Flask, it's harder to do since the silicone straw is super flexible. All in all I am very satisfied with the purchase.
