[Rewarded Review] Great alternative to ceramic cups

March 12, 2024While working, it sometimes takes me a half hour or longer to consume a cup of coffee. During that time, the contents of my ceramic cup would cool and I would reheat the contents periodically in the microwave. Unfortunately, the reheating adversely affected the quality of the coffee. In order to solve for that problem I considered both and insulated cup and a heated cup but opted for the less expensive solution and purchased 2 of the 12 oz coffee cups, one each for my wife and I, to replace our 14oz ceramic cups. While we would have liked to have larger cups, this product worked well, maintaining the temperature sufficiently to avoid the need to reheat the contents. We learned that if you brewed tea with near boiling water, the cup will retain the high temperature for some time and you may need to leave the lid off off of the cup to all the contents to cool sufficiently.
Comparing this one to Yeti

October 7, 2024I was trying to decide between Hydro Flask and Yeti for a 12ish oz mug with a handle (a classic debacle) and after doing some research I will say I was initially hoping to get the Yeti -- but when I saw them in person it was clear the Yeti wouldn't fit in my car's cup holder (it has a noticeably wider circumference). The Yeti is definitely heavier and feels sturdier, and TBH the seal **seems** more reliable -- but I'm confident the Hydro Flask will do just fine. I know there's various studies about exactly how long the liquid can stay cool or hot -- but for me personally, just having something warm for like one hour for a road trip or camping is just fine! The rounded handle on the Hydro Flask does seem more comfortable for me than the Yeti's square one. If you similarly don't need to worry too much about duration of temperature, I think the size and weight will be the main considerations.

October 22, 2024Hydro Flask is a great product. It keeps my hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold for many hours. I use Hydro Flask for hiking and to bring my tea to work. The 24 oz flask is slim and fits easily in my car’s cup holder and in my hand. The different covers are well-made and fit all wide mouth flasks, so I can interchange them. I can also put them in the dishwasher without the covers or flasks losing integrity.
I finally discovered the mug, which is great since I often don’t finish my cup of tea for a few hours. Now, I don’t need to keep reheating it! And the color is beautiful.
[Rewarded Review] Cool mug, annoying purchase experience

August 3, 2024Less than ideal (online) purchase experience. Had I of known it would take a month and multiple correspondences with customer service (who was great btw) to fulfill the order (something weird on their end - they had to cancel and resubmit it), I probably would have just gone to a store to buy a new one.
I accidentally ran over my last hydroflask mug while camping… drinking coffee out of a glass for a month was weird.
As far as the actual coffee mug goes, it’s good. Cool purple color. A little bigger than I anticipated, but no complaints.
4 stars for the Mug, 1 star for the purchase experience, 2 stars overall.
