Keeps liquids hot, lid is a pain to open and clean -- uncleanable by anyone with wrist issues
Joel M.· Review provided by hydroflask.com · October 2, 2024
The lid does a great job of keeping liquids hot. To get this insulation, the lid takes a lot of physical force to open and take apart (really can't be used by anyone with any wrist or grip issues). It comes apart into 4 very hard to clean parts. You have to be diligent with a brush or bristle to get inside everything.
If you don't put the orange rubber gasket in *exactly* right, it will leak. After about a year, my gasket is getting darker and darker from coffee.
I would not recommend this lid due to maintenance and ableism implied in the force required to take it apart.
[Rewarded Review] 20oz wide mouth has been great.

I am impressed with HydroFlask passing LeadSafeMama's lead and heavy metal tests. Thank you! Only thing that would make it better would be more colors like yellow, oranges, brighter reds. I am looking for myself and my kids. The children selections have red but only offer a pink lid. Lids, bottle and boots should be customizable for kids also. The Hello on the bottom of kids boots are great! I would love that on the larger sizes also. It's a very fun, friendly surprise.

I'm so disappointed, should have listened to a review that mentioned how hard it is to get the cap off. This is my first hydroflask so not sure if this is an issue across the board, or just with this item. But it is literally impossible for me (or anyone in my household) to get the cap off. This has happened after only having it a few months. So I brought it to my family over the holidays to see who could open it! The only one who could was my brother...who does strength training every single day. Now mind you the rest of my family isn't weak, we just aren't focused on strength training. Unfortunately I don't see my brother all the time, so this hydroflask is now sitting in my kitchen completely unusable as I cannot get it open once again. My money is now wasted. I absolutely do not recommend this item.

This also is extremely frustrating because it then renders this thing unwashable and runs the risk of growing mold. I try to add soapy water through the top and swish it around but I can never fully empty it without the cap completely off.
