I love having a handle on the lid. And before I used to get a spot of coffee on my nose if I lifted the cup too close to my face when drinking but that isn’t a feature in the new lid. But I hate the new “flex lid”. I’m on my third lid of this type. I have to take apart and reassemble 4 pieces every day now. I used to just toss the old one in the dishwasher. This one has such small pieces that they require special care to make sure they don’t end up on the heating element of the washer. The time it takes to clean is exponentially more. I could maybe get over that but it also leaks. And when it leaks it doesn’t come out of the top - it comes out of the sides and drips down my chest while I drink. I have stained two shirts already. That silicone seal gets twisted when you close the top and eventually fails. It’s infuriating. I bought a different brand. The HydroPEAK cup doesn’t stay as hot but at least it doesn’t steal my time and ruin my clothes.

I was so excited to try this easy sip n close lid, but it started leaking, soon after purchase. Liquids get trapped in between the seal when tipping to sip, and coffee dribbles out the seam, right down the front of my shirt when driving, every time I take a sip, once the leaking starts. I contacted company, and they promptly sent me another lid, but it too, has the same problem after a couple weeks.
I do clean it regularly, bit so bout have a dishwasher(me;). It's like the silicone holds onto any miniscule hard water deposit, any coffee, etc and it can no longer make a water tight seal. Really doesn't work. Please come up with a leak proof flip top lid, without all the seal, gasket issues. Great service, Bad product.

I really want to love these. We bought one, and then a second. REI replaced the first because it became lose and developed a leak 80% of the time as it would just not seal correctly. Now the second one as well as the replacement for the first are developing the same issue.
They are PITA to clean. Disassembly isn't difficult but it's tedious and the silicone gasket which is integral to the design will wear. So will the harder rubber stopper on the inner portion. We use ours and clean them almost daily but this is simply a wear item and isn't worth replacing IMO. I'll just go with the regular type. Hydro needs to develop a cap with the flip-up stopper that includes a 2ndary lock, a design I've seen on other mugs. Hard to beat those and frankly I'm switching back to my other travel mug that uses it. Not as complicated to use or clean and it's never leaked on me.
And when I say leak, coffee breaches the inner seal and dribbles out through the gap between the top portion (which twists to open or seal) and the bottom portion which screws onto the flask... The location that it dribbles from places hot coffee right onto your chin while you drink, down the flask and onto your shirt.
Cool design, but it needs some tinkering.

A little confusing how to clean and reassemble as instructions are indicated under the lid and the lid has a few parts to it when disassembled. Sometimes it leaks (a little) if you don’t close it all the way although this could be because I like to aggressively shake my bottle to check before I place it in my bag. I like the mouth of the bottle and it’s a good anti-spill lid when using out and about. It is especially great if you have hot drinks inside as it limits the water you drink. It only adds somewhat more height to the bottle compared to the standard lid but I’ve had no trouble fitting it in my existing large tote bag. I definitely prefer the mouth of this lid more than the default lid but would recommend getting when on sale.
