Reviews Guidelines

Comparably's focus on aligning company's internal culture with their external reputation relies on the authenticity of reviews and other user-submitted content to discover and learn what it is really like to work at the company from the employee experience. The authenticity and usefulness of our user's feedback is a critical value component to our employer, employee, and job seeker

Employee reviews should be truthful and constitute their own personal opinion and experience with their current employer.

Each individual is allowed one review, per employer. If a user updates a rating or review within a year, the newer review will override the older review.

In an effort to promote transparency, all text reviews and Q&A answers submitted by employees at companies go through an automated review process to check for:

  • Inappropriate language
  • Non-sensical statements
  • Individual names

We do not warrant that our automated system can catch and provide every instance

Q&A and text response public, once published, both users and companies have the opportunity to flag reviews for a manual review by the Comparably review team.

Additional reasons that either positive or constructive Text Reviews and Q&A answers may be removed from the site by our reviews approvals team include, but not limited to:

  • We do not accept reviews that reveal confidential, non-public internal company information. Including: source code, customer lists, manufacturing techniques, R&D activities, budgets, detailed financial results, M&A activity, funding plans, and technical know-how.
  • Non-sensical statements, excessive capitalization and/or punctuation, and incomprehensible grammar.
  • Current or Former Individual Names of employees that are not part of the C-suite
  • Claims of unsubstantiated criminal activity
  • Threats of violence or harassment
  • Answers to questions that are not related or relevant to the actual question
  • Severe vindictive, slanderous or defamatory statements directed at a person or identifiable person by title affiliation or name
  • Statements (with either positive or negative connotations) that clearly compromise the commenters/reviewer's identity.

While our mission is transparency and we work to support the voice of all employees, we do believe that content on Comparably should ultimately be constructive and helpful to potential job seekers and other stakeholders.

Our Community Guidelines and moderation policies take into consideration applicable laws in the markets which Comparably operates.
